West Milton Dam Removal - Day One

The 1918 West Milton low-head dam, which was originally built to power the local trolley, is being removed. The dam will be taken down in sections to allow the Stillwater River level to slowly lower, which provides Stantec, Ohio River Foundation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service time and opportunity to safely remove freshwater mussels for relocation.

I don't know where you got your information but I grew up near West Milton. The only dam I know of on The Stillwater was at Englewood. It was removed not so long ago. I don't think you know what you'r talking about.This looks like the Miami Conservancy spillway at Englewood..

It was behind dp and l ball fields and was excellent fishing, the river is absolute crap for fishing after they took it out, that river is now nothing more that a creek

Deer Slayer Slabaugh this is in west Milton Ohio. It was a dam along the still water river. Never heard of lake Milton

If anything that dam increased the population of fish. I caught many giant smallmouth bass from there in my teenage years
