Rebecca is so funny, quick learner and a hard worker. I know she can't always be in every video, but watching the chemistry you two have together is so entertaining and enjoyable to watch. I liked her comment about cutting wood.
Evan you and Rebekah make one hell of a team. Rebekah not afraid of getting her hands dirty. She helps with the chores and gardening She is a keeper I enjoy your videos very much until the next video 😎
Evan, you and Rebecca make a good team on the log splitter and the two of you made a big pile of firewood. One of those logs was curved and that would not have been a good saw log and both would make better firewood. Rebecca has a good sense of humor and takes everything in stride.
Rebekah, when I help my hubby do all these "heavy" chores, he says he's keeping me young! I say when people see me in my casket from all this hard work, they're going to say, boy, she was young 😖🤣🤣🤣 Our son says, daddy, she's a girl!! You go, Girl 💪
I hope you guys understand how much God has blessed you to have all the things you have including knowledge and ability. You guys remind me of a younger version of Just a Few Acres. Like your Show!
I love seeing you 2 work together. She is your better half and keeps you going. That smoker project is one that you 2 should take on. Can't wait to see the next Beefy Boys on the range. Great job.
There's something so satisfying about watching firewood being split. Love the vertical function on that splitter. Looks like the pups make some good supervisors. Great video!
You guys are so awesome. You, like me Evan, have a hard working wife. We are both blessed. Thanks for the videos. I am encouraged by everyone of them. Nice to know that I am not the only one who makes mistakes on the homestead. :)
Love to see couples working together... Happily 👍♥️ also we have a home built log splitter and we included a cherry picker log lift with it. It's the ticket for those big logs. Hydraulic cylinder with log tongs and away you go
Rebekah, Hickory wood is among the hardest wood to split. We did it with wedges and a splitting maul. Our son when he was growing up got his exercise splitting the Hickory that we burned. It looks like a safe operation to me. Keep up the videos, it makes me homesick for my younger days when we lived in the country about three miles Northeast of Prairietown, Illinois.
Instead of picking up those heavy rounds of the ground, Keep the rounds tight together and pickup 4 or 5 of them with the tractor, park tractor next to splitter, open grappler. No more bending over. Work smarter, use your tools, and most importantly, be safe. Love the videos, nice job Rebekah.
My opinion again, grab a couple of containers like Outdoors with the Morgan’s, fill it put on the porch, the other in the shed next to fire box, great job and videos, stay safe and healthy y’all!👍👍👍
I started watching your videos when you were building the house. I've never left and enjoy all of them, even when you are fixing the tractor. It's always a joy when Rebekah joins you as well. Thanks for sharing your homestead and parts of your life with us.
At least they weren't MICE!! :-) Miss Rebekah is an ACE and a doll! That last log would have made a gorgeous electric guitar neck! Thanks for another great homestead video ...
Sending kindness from Ashbourne UK. Good to see how well you work together, makes the tasks more enjoyable it seems. Take care and thanks for letting us go on life’s journey with you xx
Greetings from Australia. I’ve got the 50t version of your splitter. Great machine. Mine was difficult to move around by hand so I just put some big wheels on it, it’s made a huge difference. Chris - the rural project
Hey, remember the wood you reluctantly saved from the barn? LOG BUCKIING STAND. Would a strong clamp pull the bent arm back into place, maybe with some torch heat? I always avoid hitting something with a sledge hammer as they shake the entire device. The carb could fall off next week. ha
So happy you have this all on camera!!!!! YIKES! I think the two of you need to slow down .......I realize it isn't going this fast but keep that right arm back Rebekah!!! And dad stay close by when she is running the machine instead of back there with the tractor!! Glad when this is over with !!
Rebecca is definitely a keeper. Fun, hard working and pretty to boot! What more could a fellow ask for? Yep, you definitely need a smoker. We bought ourselves an Oklahoma Joe's for Christmas. It can be a grill or a smoker. Love it so far.
Hello Evan and Rebekah. What I like is that Rebekah is not scared to get her hands dirty and to work very hard. It is nice to see you both work very well together. Love watching all your videos. You both keep up the good work and stay safe and heathy.
Told you you were a lucky guy Evan...Rebekah will be doing so much more soon as she is a fast learner....smart move putting the log splitter on vertical....my back would have given out with even the smaller rounds...
It is hard work for any first timer, after better organized, cut them into cheese block, much better in handling and lifting on a 25 ton splitter... You can get up to trailer load from a base stump 60 inch, good burning wood after 90 days summer drying... I liked your app it reminds me of what I went through starting out my firewood business 😅. It's hard work 💪. ❤from New Zealand 🇳🇿supporters... P.s great job guy's 👏
Hey Rebekah, nice job 👍 It's really great to see you in the videos. As they say, Evan, work smarter...not harder. Just as you guys did with turning it vertical. Have a great weekend
Evan, after you cut your rounds, switch your grapple to the bucket. Then load your rounds in your bucket and use your bucket to lift the rounds to the splitter.
My dad had a log splitter that was the same design as yours. He bent the ears on his the same way. Get them bent back to original the best you can and we welded a piece of steel across the top to “bridge” the 2 sides together it will add a ton of strength
Nice to see you two working together on projects. What a time saver and back & shoulder saver those log splitters are. Worth every penny I imagine. Thanks for sharing this tag team effort. Well done. Have a Blessed day.
Howdy Rebekah and Evan, Rebekah is the woodcutters best little friend. I made something similar that I call my "bucking stick" using a computer hard drive magnet, a piece of fiberglass driveway marker that I found and a fender washer. Something to take care of the beetles, bugs and such in the logs.... a couple of mice. I'm jesting Have A Day! ;~)
I have a log splitter very similar to yours. Once I taught my wife how to operate it she keeps me busy cutting up more rounds for her to split and stack. Most of our wood is Oak and Hickory.
I think you should make your own saw mill.... I did and found it wasn't that hard ! I first bought 5 saw mill blades and then built a bandsaw sawmill to fit the blades.... yes it took a few months to scrounge the material .... but you have a ranch (like I did at the time) and I used an old trailer as the base.... I first used an 8hp B&S because that is what I had on hand later switched to a 12hp and it cut faster ! there are hundreds of videos on how to build one from scratch and it would make a great winter project.... you can do it for a very cheap price and then cut your own lumber ! I found I really Loved the 3"x6" beams I made they were super strong and I used them as ridge beams on sheds.... and the shed cost nothing to build but nails ! ....the only things I had to buy were bearings for the blade guides some nuts and bolts , I had a single axle trailer I used the spindles and tires from for the wheels, the blade never came off once ! it cut pine at a slow walking pace and oak at about half that..... good lumber for free is the way to go buddy !!!!
You two work great together and that is what it's all about! Just a suggestion I have a splitter like yours and found it to be easier to use the forks on my tractor set them close to the width of the splitter plate and stand the logs on the forks. It keeps them straight and fairly easy to spin them on the steel.
Great teamwork you two! Like they say Teamwork makes the dream work! BTW, Your dogs are the greatest! They crack me up…they always want to be involved with whatever you’re doing! 😁 Take Care!!
Hi Evan, in watching you and Rebecca today splitting wood in your latest video I wanted to suggest to you to take a foot long piece of PVC pipe and slip it over the existing handle on the log splitter that’s making it extremely easy to operate the handle back-and-forth. 1 inch pipe will work perfect and the leverage makes it so much easier when you’re splitting for long periods of time just a suggestion
Hickory is a great wood to smoke sausage, ham, and bacon with. Granted that Hickory is dry but mixed in with some green hardwood it would produce a good flavor for meat.
Evan, my small engine mechanic apologizes to his customers that he can't do better then to get their equipment to start on the first pull. I rent space on an Amish farm, and no electricity is available, so I use a generator I bought at the scrap yard. I took a gamble on it, and it powers most of my smaller tools. It's been good at starting on the first or second pull right along. My big generator isn't so easy. I need to clean the carb again and then I can run my welder. It's a Honda clone, so it's easy to work on. Yours should start a bit easier, but I'm not sure why it doesn't. Hopefully it will hold up well for you.
Hi Evan and Rebecca. For your log splitter you can make a splitting head that drops on so it will split the blocks into multiple pieces each time. You could build the head Evan. Just make sure it’s decent thickness and weld her solid. Great videos.
Not so easy to make I think. The angles can be tricky if it is going to work properly and another thing - can the splitter handle the extra resistance.
@@nickmastroianni5557 the strength of the splitter definitely comes into play. As for the build I have several neighbors (farmer’s) that build these. I think Evan is a good fabricator.
You should make some kind of wire basket or box on each side of the splitter to catch them before they fall all the way to the ground. That will cut down on a lot of bending down to pick them up.
“Outdoors with Andy” had a video where he would put his splitter vertical and just pinch a round enough to hold it. He would then press down on the ram end of the splitter to lever it back into the horizontal position and fully split the round into its final desired size. I haven’t tried it but certainly intend to this spring.
I had a couple large trees and I had to put the log splitter on Vertical and I found that it was a bigger strain on my back than actually lifting log onto the machine itself.
Try putting a full size log in your burner. The more you chop it up, it becomes more like kindling and burns faster. Just keep turning the log in your burner 👊 Great videos 📹 👌
We keep them indoors like a shed or a small building. Seen a cat perfectly preserved that had layed down to die 😳 in a shed full of wood 🪵 still looked alive.
Rebecca is so funny, quick learner and a hard worker. I know she can't always be in every video, but watching the chemistry you two have together is so entertaining and enjoyable to watch. I liked her comment about cutting wood.
Rebecca is definitely a keeper. She baits her own hooks as well.
You SURE GOT SOME GOOD HELP EVAN!
She likes to work I think.
Evan you and Rebekah make one hell of a team. Rebekah not afraid of getting her hands dirty. She helps with the chores and gardening She is a keeper I enjoy your videos very much until the next video 😎
With Rebekah as your number one helper and supervision of dogs you got yourself a winning team Evan!
Evan, you and Rebecca make a good team on the log splitter and the two of you made a big pile of firewood. One of those logs was curved and that would not have been a good saw log and both would make better firewood. Rebecca has a good sense of humor and takes everything in stride.

As always Rebecca’s up to the challenge. Teamwork, that’s what it’s all about. You guys compliment each other. Cheers
I hope you guys understand how much God has blessed you to have all the things you have including knowledge and ability. You guys remind me of a younger version of Just a Few Acres. Like your Show!
They dogs got tired out just watching you guys work. Good video
I'm pretty sure that you know that Rebecca is a KEEPER . It is fun watching the two of you do things around the farm.
Like the video Evan ,Rebecca .
I love seeing you 2 work together. She is your better half and keeps you going. That smoker project is one that you 2 should take on. Can't wait to see the next Beefy Boys on the range. Great job.
She works hard i know she cares about the farm!!
I guess Rebekah preferes an electric starter on the log-splitter... 😉
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏿
your wife is a good helper take care of her I lost my wife to covid last year good video
There's something so satisfying about watching firewood being split. Love the vertical function on that splitter. Looks like the pups make some good supervisors. Great video!
That was very interesting. Enjoyed seeing the dogs
Evan and Rebecca, praying for you, looks like heavy storms your way! Be safe. Thanks for sharing with us!
You guys are so awesome. You, like me Evan, have a hard working wife. We are both blessed. Thanks for the videos. I am encouraged by everyone of them. Nice to know that I am not the only one who makes mistakes on the homestead. :)

BUGS!!! Who would have thought. 😊 I really enjoy your videos. Please keep doing them. I started watching last hay season.

Rebecca, you’re amazing! I wouldn’t have hands left if I ran the splitter! 🤭
You two are so cute together.
Love the Dog's on the Beach!
Great job Rebecca and Evan, working together make for more fun around there. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
I think Rebekah did a great job .she a sweetheart.God Bless and take care yourself.

Looks like spring has sprung there! Funny was watch so many videos from the USA and everyone seems to have different weather!
Was very nice to see you both working together. Can tell you two just fit together. 💖🐱👤
It was very nice to see Rebeka speaking more. She seems to be a very nice and funny person. Keep it up Rebeka
Great idea teaching Rebecca , you never know if you might be sick or unable to split them yourself. I have plenty of faith in a woman's abilities!
Wow, great job!
Thank goodness there wasn’t any 🐭 in those logs, lol. No, she looked like she was handling the splitter just fine!👍
I grew up in Charleston. It is fun watching your channel. I am up North in Middleton Wisconsin now.
My grandfather was a professor at EIU. I spent lots of weekends in Charleston.
you'll are such a great team !!

Well done guys great job. And take my hat off to Rebekah great job usual awesome! Team work
Great team work
When Rebecca helps cut wood you can really go fast. Get a lot more done. You have had all kind of trees there on the farm.I love the cedar trees.
Nice work Rebecca.
Huge log's I could feel that in my back! LOL! Great job you two! Always Love watching!
Make a walk in Smoker Cold/Hot ? Next winter project? Looks great.

Well done Rebekah you did a great job first time on the log splitter. Good lot of fire wood guys that will keep you going for a little while.
Hickory is a great wood to smoke sausage, ham, and bacon with. Granted that Hickory is dry but mixed in with some green hardwood it would produce a good flavor for meat.
Absolutely!
Cut and split alot fire wood in my years you guys are doing great, good video.
Good firewood 💪
Put a pipe clamp on wood splitter to straighten out bent supports

The reason they split them is to dry the wood...unsplit rounds would take a really long time to dry.
Makes them easier to handle
We keep them indoors like a shed or a small building.
Seen a cat perfectly preserved that had layed down to die 😳 in a shed full of wood 🪵 still looked alive.
I can't believe how many pulls it took to start
