So Nike has a shoe everyone wants and makes it in very limited supply. Then turns around and makes another shoe that nobody wants in abundance of supply.... And they wonder why their profits are tanking.
When a certain group of shoes are sold out within minutes, as expected for years, with no restock, while majority of other styles are sitting (as expected as well), you know your company has an issue with product marketing and not able to maximize sales figures.
Absolutely LOVE to see Nikes stock drop 20% in one day. They’ve been greedy and complacent for way too long. Maybe now they’ll have to fix their problem with bots. If people were able to get their hands on the shoes they wanted they’d still be firmly in the #1 spot but people are tired of them not caring so they’re spending their money with other brands. I know I am. When all their releases were selling out instantly they couldn’t care less about the peons but now that the masses have stopped being loyal they have to change it up #powertothepeople
And this is why Nike is attacking reps and Bape. With their loss in sales they are looking to anything but their lack in quality, rising prices and lack of innovation

I miss nike actually promoting the technology of the shoes, i remember when those vapor maxes came out, everyone wanted them based on the advertising. They weren’t even that comfortable but they convinced us they were lol
If Nike was smart they would drop a Basf like product. We need a new version of ZoomX/Air/etc. Rereleasing the 10 is kinda sad because it’s clear that’s all they’ve got left. I can think of a lot of things that haven’t ever reissued but I’m old. Bring back Nike Football! Bring back zoom air Barry Sanders !
I think Nike way overestimated the demand. When sneakers were red hot in 2020 people were using multiple accounts or having their friends enter for drops. If they ended up with more than 1 pair they could throw them on StockX or Goat and at least get their money back. So I think that made it look like a lot more people trying to buy shoes than there actually were.
I think they also pulled some stock of the Alien Blue 380's specifically size 8 bc that size sat for days and there were 8 of them left and yesterday, that size sold out within 30 minutes
Fashion is part of culture, and people shouldn’t be priced out or gatekept from enjoying it. It’s a shame we treat this as luxury and not art and culture.
