I was a personal trainer, and felt I was pretty advanced. Always trying to learn and watching what I felt were credible sources, like Eugene Teo, Dorian Yates and anyone else who had a no bs type of approach.
I’ve been watching these videos for a while now and it’s just completely re-writing stuff that I thought was THE best way of doing it and introducing some fine detail and concepts I really hadn’t thought of before e.g how you flex without weight should mirror how you lift weight…
Really grateful for all this content, it’s VERY humbling for sure, and my workouts are really changing now. Great to see others are also having a similar experience! Cheers Mike! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

Love this. Dropping the weight hysteria has helped me A LOT. Most notably I have dropped a lot on back exercises and still have as much or even more soreness after compared to before. Because I can finaly move on the muscles that I intend to hit. I was dead sure that the only way to get a bigger back was to do full stack on lat pull down or 4+ plates on dead lift. I don't even do dead lifts anymore. Thanks Mike.

A few months ago you did a video with cable biceps curls where you demonstrated how to lean forward to catch on biceps, then break elbow first at the bottom, and stand up with the curl as you squeeze at the top. I'd like to see that one again sometime in one of these videos. When I get it right, it's the best biceps stimulus and pump ever, but I don't get it right every time.

Mike, I also hate those standing curls when people hold the position at the top of the opposite arm being curled too. What’s even worse is when someone stands on one leg and does DB curls- what in the world does that accomplish. These pro body builder’s are so bored with the core movements they begin to make stuff up or follow the experts who are not really experts to begin with.

Hello Mike - great video and reasonable tips. Let me ask you - should one fully extend the arm in the bottom curl position (even relaxing the biceps for a moment), particularly in the standing curls and preacher curls? Or should we maintain a slight bend in the elbow in the bottom curl position (to avoid muscle tear, to keep "constant tension"). All the best

I disagree 100 percent with a lot of what he says when it comes to building size in biceps. I am 5 foot 9- 210 lbs so not a small guy in any stretch. I have been bodybuilding and lifting for 35 years, and I do a lot of the movements he claims are stupid. I do them strict, contracting the muscle and squeezing when appropriate. Just because his shoulders are bad, or his body doesn’t move a certain way, doesn’t mean it isn’t a good movement for most people. Maybe not for Mike, but for many other people when taught properly, they are very good exercises for increasing area size and thickness. Sorry Mike, I have been a Proffessional trainer for 35 years. If you are going to make a video, put the disclaimer that these aren’t your most favorite exercises, but don’t discredit the movements because you can’t do half of them or see the point in them.
