online, the major bottleneck for speed is just finding the way down. Even knowing the map on level 2, it could take 30+ seconds. But you are correct that most of the time if you are online, you are farming this at P1.
FCR helps faster teles too though.

Also, I noticed you didn't mention that Wizardspike and Suicide Branch are very good options you can play around with to get around one of the fcr rings or needing 15+% fcr on your amulet. They are also "budget" in comparison to HotO for some peoples resources.

I also use a fire sorc and agree with your skill point allotment. My favorite dagger for necro gives you +50 fcr. It would help with your resistances, too, as you know.

One of the best duels I ever had was vs a 200 cast lightning sorc. My build was a 200 cast fire sorc. The duel went on for around 10 minutes lol.

I play the 105 FCR break point with Eshutas Tempter and pheonix shield with a fire sunder charm, works great everywhere and 1 shots Diablo with meteor. I'm still missing 4 sire skillers but what can you do.
I like the flickering flame/ Eschuta / Phoenix shield build with the 105 breakpoint better. You can farm literally everything in the game even Uber bosses.
Nice setup. I would definitely upgrade that vipermagi for more defense, and I would try fortitude! It's often overlooked for a caster, it has a sweet 25 FCR with other goodies. With the rest of your current gear, it puts you right on the 200 FCR.
Phil maybe you could make a video showcasing the different FCR breakpoints and which skills take advantage of those breakpoints. You could even explain how monsters are put into hit recovery and what that means.
I would like to see a 105 vs 200 FCR comparison to see if it's worth such an investment for sorc. Great video SP!
It is if you value movement speed over kill speed. Key runs for example you would want to get to the countess, summoner and nilathak as fast as possible, being minibosses they will die pretty quick so no need for maximum damage.
Unless you have twenty ms or better, there's no point and going 200 fcr
That lvl 13 fcr ring is nasty. Imagine finding that on the first ladder play through
The 200fcr es fber has to be one of the funnest caster vs caster dueler ever.
they had to crank that fire damage up because even with a sunder enemies have some decent fire res, that why he showed these particular zones for less resistant enemies, fireballers are great, would be a fun class for singleplayer

I think the difference between 200 fcr and 7 frames, and 105 fcr and 8 frames, is very little tactically.
But a 8 frame 105 fcr build would let you get more skill points and damage via improved equipment choices, you might even have a better offensive character overall.
Also interested if you considered eschutas; maybe you preferred safety with the res?
Or your damage is technically fine because you fireball so fast lol
@@bivdog What is better? A one-hit kill with a Fireball, while having more survivability, or a one-hit kill with a Fireball with the potential to kill bosses faster? Everyone should decide solely.
I'm actually running a Fire sorceress too and i was wondering if putting points in inferno was a waste or not. Watching this video made me realise it probably is useless and i should have maybe put my points into the Mana regen.
Something so satisfying about seeing fireballs break the framerate lol. Back in the day I'd run Eschutas but hey no res, no life.
can you use +18 to fireball from trangs set?

does obsession work at all with this build? Or does that only work with nova?
Obsession is only 60 fcr right? HOTO plus perfect spirit = 75 fcr

Obsession with all fcr gears will net you 200 fcr as well if you go griffon route.
In multiplayer this is very hard since you cannot choose player difficulty + those items you have is a hell of a grind to get also ur lvl 99.
gonna take me a while to get here on my single player. had to start over recently. 3 sojs later i got my anni. first two runs i wasnt ready gear wise and the fire took me out
i sometimes double teleport at 105fcr, about every 3-4 teleports i will double teleport. at 200fcr i double teleport each cast. so its not even achievable online for me sadly.
Eschuta has also 3 skills, 40fcr and also % fire dmg

From the video it does seem that you need 200 fcr only for teleporting as Andy needs a few FBs as well as mobs in Stony. Maybe use on the swap wizardspike allow to stuck more MF.
It is also pity that for Barb it is easier to stuck 200 fcr which is very funny for me.
why not skill hydras?
its a solid build. i love going fire but it is so expensive to have an all area fire build. my favorite weapon choice is a 6 socketed crystal sword with -30 fire res on it, but i like playing all areas. i've done meteor wall before just to try 2x double hard hitting skills and i really enjoyed it. not the same build at all but i do love playing with the fire tree, its just so limited in areas or u need a few hrs worth of just facets to be able to clear the game very well and thats the only bummer about it.
why do players 8 when you dont get any increased drops?
Take enchant for merc and others. 1 point. 200fcr breaks game animations at times so I dont even bother it's not worth gear tunneling and performance difference. In ttk etc.
Hey Bro. With so huge FCR the problem is that you dont see monsters spawning around when you going to play online. Imagine jump in group of dolls and use 1 fireball on them... yes you will die instantly. For sure this build is not recomended for HC - Cheers !

I've played plenty of D2 / D2R.. But can someone explain to me what "Frames" are exactly? I see it alot but never really understood it. I know this is probably a nub arse question, I'm "casual" D2 player so this is pretty foreign to me. ; ;
Rough explanation but it's like how fast your character does an action, with pixels??

It's easiest to explain with old D2, not D2R. Old D2 was made with 25 FPS (Frames Per Second). Thus, 1 frame was 0.04 seconds.
Now, casting spells takes a certain amount of frames (and so, time). The same goes for attacks, blocks and hit recovery btw. FCR, Faster Cast Rate, determines how many frames your character needs to complete a spell cast. The Sorceress for example needs 13 frames (so 13*0.04s=0.52 seconds) to complete a spell cast with 0% FCR. With 9% FCR it's 12 frames (so 0.48 seconds). Every character has their own, different, "FCR breakpoints". These breakpoints are literal breakpoints, any FCR between two breakpoints is literally wasted and useless. You either hit the next frame breakpoint or you don't. These breakpoints can be easily found on google.
The final FCR breakpoint for the sorc is 200% FCR, at which point you need 7 frames (0.28 seconds) to cast spells.
Its the amount of frames of animation that an action takes to perform. In a movie it runs at 24fps (industry standard) so there are 24 individual image frames that make up 1 second of footage. In diablo 2 it basically just equates to how quickly an action starts and ends, so the faster you get the action done - the sooner you can do it again. The 200 fcr breakpoint means that you reach enough FCR to allow your character to move to the next tier of animation speed when performing actions. So the end result is, your teleports cast faster, reducing the time it takes per teleport - resulting in faster movement. With fireball in this case, it simply means your fireball gets cast quicker, and logically - the faster you cast, the more damage you can put out in a shorter timeframe.
That amulet is impossible, 20 vit on a craft?
I think if i didnt care about mf id go eschutas over hoto but thats just my opinion

Serious mana issues on that build
It's cool and everything but I am kind tired of one trick pony Builds that can't actually get through hell difficulty without taxi or running past blobs of mobs. It's kind of a newbie trap and makes the builds basically trash in my eyes. Players look for a build and find some high damage thing yet at the end of the day 90% of them are often too expensive for most people so that they get bored with it or they start making their way through hell and get absolutely dominated because the boxes for survivability and utility just aren't ticked off.
I have started looking for HC viable builds these days for non-HC purely because I enjoy solo self-found and actually playing through at a normal pace. I don't mind doing the odd MF run here and there however, doing hundreds of the same run over and over gets so boring.
FB/Meteor soso is the best build - prove me wrong
I like the almost full energy Nova/Energy Shield sorc the most
