I love your videos, I discovered your channel when I was battling cancer, your videos kept entertained as I couldn’t do much as far as moving due to being extremely weak from malnutrition before I was diagnosed so my muscles at the time wasted away plus when I was hospitalized I ended up aspirating which prompted me being rushed to the icu and intubated it was a nightmare for me but watching your videos made it bearable since a lot of the projects focused around things I like such as video games!

I'm a nerd too (read the rest of my comment if you want to know how) but dang, the dedication
    Okay so
I'm working on real life spiderman web shooters. Initially I was going to come at it from the comics stand point by trying to use different chemicals that, when mixed together, would replicate spider silk. However, while being nearly impossible, it's also highly illogical because the chemicals (salicylic acid C₇H₆O₃, toluene C₆H₅CH₃, methanol CH3OH, carbon tetrachloride CCl₄, potassium carbonate K2CO3, and ethyl acetate CH3CO2CH2CH3, simplified to C4H8O2 all held in 16 gram cartridges shot with 100 psi) wouldn't really do anything
Because, spider silk is mostly proteins. “Spider Silk primarily consists of proteins that possess large quantities of nonpolar and hydrophobic amino acids like glycine or alanine, but for example, no or only very little tryptophan. In comparison to common cellular enzymes, it is evident that silk proteins exhibit a quite aberrant amino acid composition”
So then I started looking at what makes actual silk possible from other animals. So then I got to the protein in dragline silk whicg is fibroin (Mr 200,000-300,000) which is a combination of the proteins spidroin 1 and spidroin 2. The exact composition of these proteins depends on factors including species and diet. Fibroin consists of approximately 42% glycine and 25% alanine as the major amino acids.
Now finally I'm to where I decided on Carbon nanotubes for tensile strengthz rigidity, and it's light weight being mixed with the proper polymer to add elasticity. So I'd have to figure out the ratio of the mixture as well as how to store it into small cartridges that can be put into a mechanism to spin it (for control) and shoot it. And mixture being liquid and hardening into a semi solid when exposed to air
Theoretically I could make all this. But there would be many issues. Storing it for one would be quite tough. Pressurization of the cartridges to shoot it would be a pain. And depending on how it's made, couldn't come into contact with human skin without causing serious damage
