I am so excited for you, Julie! While we will all miss the FJ, I am embracing the new adventures you'll be experiencing in your future! I think that everything you have experienced the last three years has matured you in ways that most of us can't even begin to imagine. You are a wonderful woman, living life to the fullest! I am hoping that many more people will subscribe to your You Tube channel and support your fantastic story!
Congratulations on the Tundra. I came across you and followed because of the FJ. I’ll keep watching and following to see the new adventures awaiting you and the pups. At least you’re still in the Yota family. Lol. I’ve had my FJ for a year now and love it. I also own a Tacoma for about 25 years now. It still running strong with about 275000 miles on it. Yours should do the same. Toyotas last forever.
WooHoo....! Excited for you, the build of this vehicle will be good for you and the channel - Get them lower control arm bushing replaced ASAP - It's a job but it'll be worth it - Did mine when I got the van after driving it across the country with basically no bushings left....
Just make sure you get that frame coated with Fluid Film or some equivalent if you're going to be in the salt states at all...unless yours had the frame swapped by the Toyota recall. They were not made correctly...and need protection. ..otherwise, excellent choice!
I’m on my third Toyota. A 72 pickup, a 98 Tacoma, & now a 09 Venza! Toyota builds them well, & they last. Unfortunately now & then, there are lemons! Drive carefully, be kind, & smile often!
@@TheOverlanderNextdoor Treat it right too! It’s designed to go hard, but needs maintenance! Don’t neglect it! You’ll love it! So will the pooches! Enjoy!
So glad you have wheels again. Smart move getting the new beefier battery. Control arm bushing replacement won’t be too expensive. Are you planning on removing the back seats and installing a platform? Many happy miles!!!
@@TheOverlanderNextdoor I tried to send you a link to a DIY rear seat delete for Tundra Gen 1 trucks, but I guess it got deleted. Looking forward to seeing your mods.
The sorty with the place you looked at, was suposed to be a vacation spot funded by the rez. Funding dropped if i remember correctly, and it was abandoned. Its on my one day list.
Congrats Julie can’t wait to see the truck! Gonna look good in a lifted 1st gen 😎 sorry about the fj hope this is an opening to an exciting new chapter in your adventure.
Why would you buy a Used Toyota Tundra Pickup with over 100,000 miles on it? Toyota Tundras are the Second Worst selling truck in the USA. Nissan is number one. Plus, the older model Tundras are P O S!!! They will get about 5-8 MPG, their Transmissions Suck and I promise you’ll regret it within 6-8 months after you get it. You should have done your research on older Tundra Trucks. They absolutely terrible!! You’ll never be happy with that truck, plus it ain’t worth what you paid for it either. Sorry, but the truth is the truth. Praying for you!! #toyotasucks #tundrasucks
Hater gonna hate, this engine is a 500k plus engine, I did do research, and know that these trucks definitely have their issues and aren't as great as a newer fj, but they will out live a Ford or Chevy any day haha IF IT IS TAKEN CARE OF. Most people who say the tundra sucks is because they don't do maintenance, these trucks are more sensitive you gotta take better care of it for it to last. I can't treat it. And you don't even know how much I spent on it, so you saying I paid to much is silly l.
The 4.7 liter Tundra motor has no issues. The transmissions had a weak planetary gear from 2000 to 2003.. The front brake rotors had warping issues in 2000-2002. Mpg 15-18. I have a 2002 Tundra with 305,000. Runs good, burns 1/2 quart of oil every 3000 miles. No transmission issues. Upgraded my front brake rotors and calipers. I've never seen a 1st gen Tundra broke down on the side of the road.
You guys already know what I'm getting, but the true reveal will be next week!!! 🎉
Very happy for you.
Can't wait to see the buildout on it!

Love tundra but Tacoma is no slouch with a ott tune and a regear on 35s. Plus easier to fit down a tight trail.
This tundra is the same size if not smaller then a Tacoma!
So happy for 🙏
