Being DOT only is a nogo for me....too bad as it seems great otherwise.
Dont know if theres another version of this helmet in the US, but in germany it is ECE 22.06 certified... They even say it on the official Shark website
They are ECE 22.06 in Europe yes, and I enjoy mine quite a lot
@@FloFlqRevzilla's website says even says ECE 22.06. Weird.
Good catch, well update the site with correct info. Helmet is DOT only here in the states but Europe gets their own model.
I got mine from Germany, it is ece2206
This helmet has passed the ECE.22.06 homologation standards, which is really good.
Tron helmet ;-)
This is one of those products that’ll greatly benefit from the “keep it pinned” guy ride testing. (sorry idk his name)
Thanks Splurge
Really, the only problem i found with this helmet is not be able to use clip mount for intercom and ventilation sucks
my question is how well this will match with the braking of the lights, just the red lights on the helmet might confuse drivers? not sure.
They won’t ever be perfectly synced since the systems aren’t connected, but that’s ok. Matching isn’t really important, as long as the drivers behind you see one of the sets of lights it’s improving your overall visibility / safety. Being seen is the key factor.
The thing we need to know about helmets in the first 10 seconds is if it’s a full face, modular or a 180 degree like the incredibly awesome LS2 Advant X Carbon 👍🏻
Nice review. This looks like a really nice product at a good price point. To obtain ratings more stringent than DOT would increase the release schedule and cost considerably, I would guess.
Lights for safety. Only DOT rated. Nice. 😂
I love Shark helmets, brilliant quality. Their sun visors are superb
I've been waiting for this! it was hard to get a hold of one locally, even though they apparently had some in stock.
first time to know the soft side of a Velcro called female side :) 😂
How to put battery for lights? Could you explain?
07:26 Charge via a usb cable built in
I had no idea how to turn it on lol!
So why is it ece 22.06 in Germany but not in the states??
Same reason why the German model isn't DOT but it is here in the US. Because they are two different shells made for the legally-required testing standards in the market they are being sold. Pretty common with most brands out there these days (HJC, Shoei, Arai, etc). The DOT model is typically it's own production line and shell construction for the standard.
still waiting for a built in camera
Yeah, some brands like Sena have approached the concept of cameras built in. However, since one drop of the helmet makes all the tech then obsolete and needing replacement, the category didn't really catch on in popularity.
First comment for this Vidoe, can we have a general knowledge about helmets and what’s the best recommendations on high side low side podcast? I’m looking for a helmet that’s safe and have the least wind noise, I have shoie glamster and it’s horrible in the highway.
Shoei Rf1400 is the best street helmet on the market. Went down 40mph hit head first and only had a minor concussion. Quiet as a graveyard even at freeway speed
What a gimmick. Pass. Hard Pass.
Where's the gimmick? It literally increases visibility. That's all it was meant to do.
Gimiky and tacky.
How is it a gimmick? It literally increases visibility.
