- We all have a running list of things we want (need?) to make our home complete. Well, this is mine but it's full of only vintage items. I want to find them all but my pockets might not allow it. However if there was anything you saw in the video that was just what you've been after find links to everything here - www.celiadw.com/some-things-b...

You're excellent at this style video. I believe this is the second one of these. Great job. Charming.
Thank you so much 🤗
If you want marble, you could go to a stoneyard and look for off cuts and have it fabricated to fit any size surface you want
Great tip!!
OMG I click into this video so fast when I saw the Popsicles lamp... I own one that's bigger than that one. It is in my childhood home I just have to go get it. Of course I told you I lost both my parents within the last 6 years. My brother now lives in our childhood home. Of course I'm not selling it but I'm going to take a picture of it and put it in your inbox on IG.... I pray you manifest and find one🙏🏽
Yes.. The MCM starburst clock is on my list.. Actually starburst anything.. Secondhand and thrift shopping just makes you see the possibilities ..and makes you buy items you never knew you needed.. Know what I mean..
I wish I did have something to share with you. You’re such an appreciator of vintage. You’d definitely give honor to an item.
Just have to say that i watched the video in which you made that bookcase and it is a FABULOUS backdrop for this vid! Gorgeous!
oh this reminded me, I had an elementary school teacher who has a red marble apple. I can feel how heavy it was and that little brass leaf in my mind
Hi C, very good points and the pieces are beautiful 🌺🌹❤️
Years ago (circa the mid-1990s) I threw away a large velvet portrait painting of a BEAUTIFUL Black woman with a huge afro. It wasn't one of those tacky, glow-in-the-dark, zodiac, $ex position paintings. NO, this was a mesmerizing piece and a holdover from my Mother's things from the 70s. I was in my 20s, full of myself, and thought at the time that it was garbage. 😭😭😭 I would kill to have that painting today!
❤
HI CELIA, VERY INTERESTING, 💖
I bought black bust of an african man a year or so ago. I just had to have it, I haven't found a spot for it but it brings me so much joy. The same shop had a lot of negro kitchen memorbillia that I wanted to buy all of just to reclaim but my husband thought it would be crazy to own them given their history. I am currently looking for a large 80's etched glass mirror (with the flowers colored pink). I am also looking for two dining chairs in rattan or bamboo like the ones everyone took pictures in back in the day but on a smaller scale. I collect vintage blue and green glass objects and though I told myself the collection is full my eyes are always open to add to the collection lol
Yes!! I have almost purchased some of this same kitchen decor. I have a gollywog doll, that's in the same vein, and every now and again someone will comment that it's raciest. And I'm of the mind that ignoring it will make us forget. And me owning or displaying it in my home will never give it the power that they intended. It's an honoring of our history. Finding problem free vintage images of Black people is hard, and we been here, so let me protect our story! The price has always been too high and the seller not who I wanted to give those coins to, but when the situation is right some "problematic" stuff is coming home with me.
The 80's are having a moment so good luck! Try Etsy! The rattan chairs are going to be harder! There is a Black woman here in Cleveland who has had some, and she ships! instagram.com/uptown_finds/ Good Luck!
@@Celiadw I was trying to explain to my husband the reclaiming the history of my ancestors is empowering. I know who I am and I choose to find beauty in the ugliness. I also just wanted to take things home to get it and keep it out of the hands of those who remember that time fondly.
Thanks for the tips. I’ve been looking on Etsy for things but can’t force myself to buy since everyone is now thrifting the prices are insane.
Another great video! Would love a video on apartment-friendly fixes for a bathroom with ugly tile. My new bathroom tile is giving 1991 Miami.
You are so right, love vintage shopping...my short list is an antique vintage floor ashtray, why? I don't know, no one smokes in my home, nor is it an invitation for a guest to smoke. 😏 think I will have to order on line, I have the perfect spot for it.
You know what tho, I get this! It's the look! Design care was put into the look and nothing looks like a vintage floor ashtray. My Dad smoked and I vividly remember a silver ashtray with flaps. I hope you find what you're looking for!
Omg I want a tramp art popsicle lamp so bad too, also a tiny lamp for the kitchen. Brass or interesting taper candle holders. Abd always looking for the bone inlay peice of my dreams. Going to a big DMV flea market soon, I'll keep an eye out for your wish list!
Beautiful ideas for the home. Thanks for sharing😊
Been where you’re dreaming of for years! Have sold them or given them away now. You’ll find what you’re looking for, “just keep looking and living”.
Happy Hunting 🎉
Given away?! *gasp* lol! I'll definitely keep hunting! ❤
I dont know where you live, but what I have always done is drive around the old parts of the suburbs on the night before large item junk pick up day. Usually the side of the road is a fantastic Bonanza of chairs in posh old suburban neighborhoods. Also look at craigslist Free section
I'm with you on mostly everything except those popsicle stick lamps 😂
I understand but if you look at them long enough you might change your mind! 😂
You have shown some beautiful home decor. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Celia, I missed a set of MCM dining chairs almost exactly like that a year and a half ago. They were on Marketplace for $200! Someone picked them up right before I messaged the seller. Still haven’t found anything like them. After over a year, I bought new ones that are MCM like. Good substitute, but new is nothing like vintage.
Love your wish list. Checkout Atlanta Used Furniture. They have alot of mid century furniture and things.
I've followed them on IG, thanks for the recco!
I love your list! I have so many weird/cool things I've found thrifting, from original art to small sculptures to wood stools. So many people use Marketplace these days, but I'm old school and still prefer Craigslist. I just got two iron obelisks for my backyard garden, and two outdoor benches. I've been trying to buy some cool ceramic fluted sconces for the past few days, but the woman selling them keeps delaying.
I like your list and now I'm going to look for some marble fruit. I found a vintage looking apothecary wall cabinet on Amazon and Walmart and I bought that. I've been really into thrifting/antiquing and vintage for a long time now and I'm still discovering new things about it.Oh, if you haven't already, you can check Anthropolgie for brass bathroom fixtures.Love this series of yours.
I was thinking I might have to go new for the cabinet. I got needs on that one lol. I'll take a look. I have found some on Etsy but I'll check Antho too, thanks!
I rarely buy anything home decor related new theses days. My home is 98% second hand due to my design style and love of handbags. I love doing hauls and have developed a love for bass candle holders and vintage candles. WE’RE HELPING THE EARFF 🌎
WE’RE HELPING THE EARFF! And the hunt is fun! I'll likely still buy some new but I get your point of view. Old stuff was made bette!
Hi celia I would love to ship you a marble elephant free of charge because you are a beautiful person and I love your family
Omg!! Thank you!!! Can you message me on IG or email me at celia@celiadw.com ♥️♥️♥️
Can you give us a thrift shopping video? Even its online
Coming up next! With a big haul too!!
Off topic….did I miss an engagement video?! 👀
LOL you did but it was in 2020! Since I work at home I'm not always wearing the ring 😬
@@Celiadw 2020???!!! lol well, late congrats!! 🎉
