David, this is a Master class, beautifully explained. In fact, it is the summary of the ACIM teachings.
This morning, I bumped into this video of Krishnamurti (A mind free of "me") and I invite you to watch it in your own time:

After watching it, I had the Voice explaining to me, that the "me" and emptying of the mind vanish when we accept the wrong perception and immediately call upon the Holy Spirit to provide us with its correction. The more we apply this, the more we start, as you lovely said it to experience Heaven on Earth. Why waiting?!
