  • Marcus Rigby's family have been living with not knowing what happened to their son for 13 years.
In that time there have been some possible sightings and so they remain hopeful that one day they will find him.
Vanished goes on the road with Locate International, using age progression techniques to figure out just want happened to Marcus and hopefully give his family some closure.

Marcus looks a very troubled young man, ones rarely dables in drugs for fun.
hope the family can find some answers asap. ❤

Strange and sad case. My heart sunk when they mentioned drugs as I'd imagine this had a significant role in Marcus's outcome. Would be worth connecting with local degenerates and offering forms on financial encouragement for any leads.

Yes, so true..but he seemed he went over with those long before, but the town is very small I imagine he had to be found all these years if he was still there.. I really hope he is doing well and he didn't have any mental health issue to leave like this but other reasons

I knew Markus when we were at Capernwray together in 1995. He was soft spoken and kind, but distant and seemed a bit uncomfortable in his own skin. I do remember when he went missing and am sad to hear he hasn't been found.

I didn't know him but I heard the story and it's so sad and strange..did he have friends there or did he seem troubled?
I am very heartbroken seeing beautiful people get lost like this..I hope he was indeed his choice and not any mental problem because he didn't seem he had one except this small crisis in his late teens. However, this town seems very small and all these years he had to be found somewhere if he was still there.. I hope someday Marc will be revealed!🤍🤍

As someone who has suffered mental health myself. There has been times Ive thought Id like to leave my home and just keep going. Only the person I want to run away from is actually myself. Ive known people who have wanted to do the same. Its very sad for his family but it was probably not them he wanted to get away from. I think most people have had that thing of living in the middle of nowhere on their own at sometime in their lives. So in a way I do understand why people just go off on their own. Initially its to think and try to get your head straight. I guess the longer your away the harder it is to return. I sometimes wish there were places you can stay in peaceful surroundings, Only the places that are available are not accessible unless you can drive. Theres not really many places like that unless your a couple or a family. I sometimes think thats all some people need in some cases. It would actually be cheaper than treating people in mental health facilities because I think mental health services within the NHS can actually make your mental health worse. I was given medication which caused my mental health to become worse. It actually caused paranoia.

I really hope that the family are able to find answers. I’d like to see an age progression of him with a beard or facial hair. If he’s homeless or squatting, it’s unlikely he’d be clean shaven. He may be too embarrassed to reach out if he’s been living on the streets. I’ve befriended some homeless individuals in my area as I try to help them when I can and I know for certain that is usually the case. Is there any way to find out if he receives any benefits? Housing benefit or something like PIP? Just some thoughts. I hope for answers for the family, I can’t imagine that kind of pain. Hoping for some answers for you all ❤

Almost 30 years ago, not 13. Either it's a voice to text typo in the description or the description is taken from the TV information at the time this show was created.

I saw another story of a young man who had a mental illness and really didn't know who he was after living on the streets so long. He was found by accident by a social worker, who made a public appeal to find out who he was. It's very sad and I believe in the power of prayer, and not on a religious belief, on a praying to the universe for help.

This poor guy doesn't want to be found after 28 years, if he stayed in weymounth he would be found by now it's a very small place and not even any jobs there.

It's clearly truly harrowing the longterm effect of living whilst a relative is missing.
Maybe the nurse would have Marcus's nhs number to confirm he was treated by her.
Surely, if Marcus isn't alive for some reason his death could be recorded on the Births etc registry.
It seems he made the decision to abandon his family. A call once a year to his mother or his aunt would have been something.
In light of the mention of Marcus being quite a spiritual man, I'd find assurance that God knows where he has been all these years and even now. ❤
