I got a B-stock one from Detroit Modular recently and it's just wild. The superbooth demos didn't do much for me, but this thing really just has so much character with so little effort. Yes it is a lot of money for on paper a simplistic synth, but to me it's not far off from the "oberheim tax" that exists on the ob-6 which is similarly simple and yet oozes tone. I was (and continue to be) stunned at how far you can take the murmux into unique grittiness despite the super simple front panel! Clearly other commenters aren't a fan of the fizzy sounds but it does so much more than that, and even within those patches you can tell how much life this thing has on it's own with nothing else needed. Very happy to have grabbed one while I still can :^) Edit: great first noodlings, and also so jealous of your TVS-Pro. I used to have one and regrettably traded it 🥲So hoping Tom brings it back again.
Awesome dude! Yeah, this thing has so much character! Haha, I like the "oberheim tax" description, accurate. With this though, I've barely made it into the presets cause it has so much tone I get lost in exploring it every time. I really like how it sounds when you turn the FM and resonance up then sweep the cutoff. Those shimmering harmonic tones that come thru are amazing. Congrats on picking one up too! And yeah, the TVS-Pro is something else. Really love it!
@@DJNAS454 I did. It was fun doing those but I wanted to move on to different music projects and didn't have enough time for both. Thanks for still checking out my stuff, I really appreciate it.
It's all good, but yeah, you'll need a MIDI controller. It has no keyboard. I was using one of my other synths to control it. Just had my MIDI cables plugged into the Murmux.
It's hard to tell what's going on here, if it's the synth, or it's you. But this doesn't sound very good at all. Those brash highs with no filtering like that are really harsh. And those pitch bombs wtf. If I was with Dreadbox I'd want you to take this down. You make this synth sound awful.
Appreciate the feedback, I was really enjoying the pitch bends and grittier tones I was getting out of it though. All just experiments with the first few minutes of playing around with it. It's pretty insane how extreme the FM knob and some of it's other settings can get. But, I do enjoy dissonant sounds and tones.
Holy cow I’m glad I didn’t bite on this one

Yeah, you can make usable sounds with some chorus
good idea
Oh my god more content!!
I'm working on some more stuff with the murmux. This thing's incredible! and thanks!
@@fortressofgraves sweet!! Did you stop doing the daily tracks?

what a wonderful oscillators
They are really amazing. Great synth from Dreadbox.
Do i need a MIDI controller for this? Pardon my ignorance.

Sorry for your loss. Thing sounds terrible.
You mean my playing lol. The synth is definitely an incredible machine.

@GoodAfternoonDave Lol! You forgot the third option: that it's likely just you.
Agree. It sounds terrible to me. But well we’re all different. I like Diamanda Galas and Skinny Puppy and some people can’t stand that.
