Early to mid 2010s were really the golden age of that happy pop music sound. Now, this is how music should sound!! EDM also definitely peaked in these years. If the evolution of music stopped here, I’d be fine. This is far better than what we hear on the radio now. The early to mid 2010s were my elementary school years, so they’re naturally super nostalgic to me.
Agreed. I feel like the period between 2006 and 2016 was the peak of music. That’s not to disrespect the decades that came before, as the 80s and 90s had some legendary tunes (Thriller, Purple Rain, Take On Me, etc. for the 80s, and Smells Like Teen Spirit, Wannabe, I Want It That Way, etc. for the 90s), but I think that overall period I mentioned had some of the most nostalgic music for people of my generation (Generation Z)
There’s a real standout song on this list that still feels brand new to me. “Shut up and dance” has remained popular ever since its release. That particular song is really the only one that hangs on since 2014 without having any sort of disappearance and reappearance on the radio waves. I had a period of time where I hated it and thought it was overplayed, but I like it again now for nostalgic reasons.
6:48 Technically happy by pharrell Williams was released in 2013 and is therefore actually 11 years old as it was written for the soundtrack of the film Despicable Me 2 released in 2013 with the song releasing with the official film soundtrack album in 2013. you may have gotten the release date confused with its inclusion within Williams' G I R L album which released a year later in 2014
I am of the opinion that music has dropped in quality since the early 90's. I believe there was an uptick in the early 2010's, but it has gone exponentially downhill since then.

"Does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes?" I felt this omg
I graduated high school & entered college in 2014. My high school reunion is this year.

I think it’s because of its throwback sound. I always thought it sounded like an updated version of 80s music.
I love all of the songs and I can't believe they are 10 years old
I Was 12 Years Old In 2014 I Was In The 6th Grade, I Was In Middle School At The Time, But 2014 Doesn't Feel Like It Was 10 Years Ago! 😵😵😵😵😭😭😭😭
Years after 2014 are for me very modern so it's weird that they are already 10 years 🥲
That was the year I became a teenager.
7:16 I cannot wait Until The New Black Ops Game Comes Out
Break Free: Not Today..
These songs bring me back high school vibes.
Dear God! I remember seeing all the music videos of the songs on Teen Nick Top 10.
I'm really getting old
The bad guy singer is nearly the same age as me but I can't believe her song came out half a decade ago😂😂😂
This was a unique year for pop music and EDM
I turned 20 in 2014! Man the years start blurring together more and more
