'95 is the KOF game with the most beatiful backgrounds. The Fatal Fury Team and the Psycho Soldier Team ones are amongst the best that I have ever seen on any 2D fighting game.

I loved all the early KOF introductions. 94 through 1999. Once SNK was sold to Playmore you could tell the presentations were different. Although the 2000 and 2001 intros are one of my favorites.
Not sure how anyone can take Rugal seriously with lines like "Just desserts for foiling my evil plans" and "'I'll be back, you jerks!" And then we have "Rugal befeated". Maybe it is just the translation, but damn

I remember playing the Gameboy version of this game. I have beaten Rugal, but never really mastered the moves of any of characters. I played the arcade version for a little while at a Little Caesars place too. I must say that this game is impressive. Good job letting Omega Rugal go out with in a blaze of defeat! :)
The producer of this game was Nishiyama who made the first Street Fighter game in 1987 then went onto make the first Fatal Fury game in 1991, same year Street Fighter II came out, then made Art of Fighting and eventually King of Fighters 94 and this.

This is one of my all-time favourites my team was Heidern, Takuma and Iori/Eiji. Awesome combo with Takuma, j.C, c.C, Lightning Legs Knockout Kick, Zan Retsu Ken. If you started with a haoh sho koh ken, the cpu opponent would almost always jump, letting you get the LLKK in. Even had a magazine with all the moves.
Inesquecíveis para quem cresceu com eles! As edições mais modernas são desinteressantes e por isso os jovens não se importam mais! Se a SNK tivesse refeito todos os jogos do NeoGeo em alta definição, aí sim eles permaneceriam desejáveis!
I have most of the KoF on AES and still play them... very often but this part is so broken due to the unblanced dmg. A simple throw cost so much HP... this is never seen in any other Neo Geo Fighting Game... But i totally agree to the others here regarding the great Stages / Design. I love Neo Geo and will never quit ....

it's not just about a freakin tournament the thing works like a manga 94 = prologue 95-98 = the orochi demon arc+Rugal arrives 99-02= the Nest arc+Rugal revenge 03-XIII= the Ash Crimson arc you can be sure that another tournament should be held and the promoter usually has a hidden purpose which get developped in the game of his time line !

good show. i noticed something about kof. the cpu does not alway react quickly as much when you play the jpn team.
