It really depends on what your needs are the cameras come into question with the mega pixel count. In good lighting the S 5 pics an excellent picture but in most other cases I like the quality of the m8 picture a little bit better. Processor speed they're both a little bit faster than your Nexus. But also take a look at my LG G 2 video I think that's an awesome phone as well.
I have a Nexus 5 and am thinking of getting either the M8 or S5 as well. Which would you recommend? Are either an upgrade over the Nexus?

For your menu button, you can hold down the multi tasking button, then the menu button works as it used to.
For the most part your right (I did note that in the description) but it doesn't work on the home screen
