A ranger once told me it's more dangerous in the days after a storm often than during the storm itself. You're right you do have to keep your eye up. Watch out for those widowmakers. When the ground is moist with or without the wind picking up after a storm there's often an unexpected fall. Be careful out there! Great to see you on the trail again! 😁
What a beautiful park and fittingly festive for October. 😊 Imagine a spooky Halloween night walk through here. 🎃 🕸 Happy you and yours faired ok through this storm. ✌️
Glad you didn’t get any worse damage in your area. Thanks for sharing the update about conditions. Keep on getting outside and sharing your adventures!
Glad you are doing fine, and that you left your last outing before the storm got there. / I had never heard about the bugs in the spagum moss. Thank you for taking us on a hike!
Laura thank you so much for doing this video! We're still trying to decide if we're still coming the 13th. Worried about this other hurricane in the gulf now.
Hey Laura, pine trees have a tap root that goes almost as deep as the tree is tall. Pines will usually snap before the roots come up. Good to see you and know that you made it safely thru the storm.
Beautiful but dangerous in some spots! 😮. It is especially good to look up Yikes! 🙄 So glad to see you out and about! 💪 Take care and keeping going forward and looking upward. Another storm on its way Milton. Prayers going out for everyone in its path! 🙏❤️
Good timing lol. I had to laugh at your 27 feet above sea level. That’s a mountain for us.😂 I do a 4 mile walk on the levee everyday. No shade but no rocks! Water oaks have shallow and live much deeper roots. Good to see your local trail. I thought you were saying fairy trail.😊❤

That’s why it’s so quiet, there are a lot of hidden dangers now. The wildlife was disrupted too. Thanks for the guided walk…I was concerned after your last video you were nearer to the storm…glad you are ok. ❤️🥾🥾🍁🍂🌲🪵

This is very true. I keep looking up in my yard and noticing potential threats! 🌲🥺

Thank you! The moss does make it spooky, and Savannah is notoriously haunted! 👻
Good to see you again!!!!!!

Hope Georgia stays safe in the new storm Milton! Prayers for Florida! Stay safe Laura! 🙏

Thanks for clarifying! I do see a lot of pines snapped. That makes sense!

Hi, Laura! Thanks for sharing this video. It was very interesting. Didn't realize that we have a couple of "widow makers" in our yard also. Hugs! 😊

The low country is a beautiful place!
20:17 looks like jack and the bean stalk’s tree! Interesting bootlegging history🥃 Be careful out there Laura!
There are some crazy looking trees out there!
My wife and I were in Savannah back in May of 2011 Driving from Massachusetts; one of best unplanned adventures. BTW our elevation is 1100 feet.
So glad you enjoyed your visit to Savannah. It's a magical place!
At 4:00-4:02, I thought that a was deer (to the far right) but now I'm thinking it's a sign?
Good eye! But yes, it's a sign.
hey peaks be blessed
You as well!
Do you ever see gators on the trail ??
I've never seen a gator at Skidaway, but I'm sure they are around! 🥾♥️🐊
Sometimes you just have to walk fast.
Truth!
Are you not afraid of alligators in those marshes? As a northerner, I’m scared to death of southern bodies of water and marshes that can hold them.
I've seen more snakes than alligators down here. Definitely took some time to get use to this climate!
Skidaway Island is a rich mans playground about the same with Richman Hill. The name says it all. Ain't no jail in Richman Hill.
