- In Baton Rouge, La., nine-year-old Kelvin Ellis Jr. thought he'd found an opportunity to help a homeless person, when he spotted a disheveled man standing outside a coffee shop. Kevin offered the man, Matt Busbice, a dollar bill - the only money he had. Steve Hartman reports on the boy's selfless act, and what he received in return.

Kelvin is an inspiration! His family raised him right. Blessings!
Yes! He's gonna go far in life! His parents will (are) be proud 👏❤1
His Father is amazing for bringing up this young man this way 👍🏼
Please give that young man a great college education. What a lil angel that young man is.
You gotta respect this young boy for opening up his heart, to something and someone he cared about, so tremendously. Well done, young man!
NOBODY does a human interest story like Steve Hartman! Nobody
Generosity is a great quality that most rich people don’t have …and they don’t know the pleasure it gives us !
Well done everyone, i hope the world bends for this kid he's genuine
His parents should be VERY proud. They are doing a wonderful job!!!!
This kid is rich, with love and compassion for others. May the Lord continue to bless him.🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
Wow, never thought I would see a youngster in today's day and age be so generous. Hopefully great and exciting moments are in Kelvin's future.
What a wonderful and kind young man! His parents must be very proud of him. 💯👏🏽
The spirit of compassion and empathy will heal this world.
That's just awesome!
A true gift from God!

Thank You You Young Gentleman..
And His Supporter..❤❤❤❤❤❤
I cried, believing the very best for him 'Academically' and beyond doing great things. Young Man you are blessed. ❤❤
The best way to spend my time was with the lesson that young man taught. Thank you ❤
We need more of him and his soul in this world.
I heard this story earlier. This young man’s generosity demonstrates good rearing. His parents are to be congratulated. May their friendship flourish. Louisiana at its finest.
I really needed to see this. My faith in humanity is very low.
It's stories like these, that should be getting all of the attention in the world!!! Raise your hand, if you have ever played catch by yourself, by throwing the ball up on the roof, like he did. WTG to the cameraman that captured that moment.
God bless that young man ❤.
This gives me hope for humanity
God bless this child 🙏 he was raised well.
Yes, Cheers to “Friends Forever!”. And Cheers to you Kelvin! Thank you for this very important reminder.
A child of GOD. Thank you Kelvin. Your story helps other see what love looks like in action. I love you.
What a wonderful unselfish act of kindness ❤
I love Kelvin's content of character. This is a great story.
I like how he only got a dollar for good grades. Kids these days would scoff at that. He is being raised right in a lot of ways.
Kelvin has amazing parents & such a wonderful heart ❤️
If we all can learn from this young man kindness sincere kindness god bless ❤
Such sweet hearts!💕
Beautiful child.
Looks like he's an only child... throwing the ball and trying to catch it off the roof brought back a lot of memories... His parents should be proud...
Kelvin is an amazing young man and so is Matt! Great story!
My goodness 😭😭😭” Cheers to friends forever!
I Love Everyone here and Wish you all Peace Tranquility and Happiness.

What great parents to instill such great values to their son 🙏
He represents his culture in a positive light unlike the violence you see in schools and the endless racism we listen to every day
that little boy is an old soul. and he's gonna be great for our future!!!!!!
Cheers to friends forever! This young man is gonna go places, just wait.
Selflessness ...and a child shall lead them💖

RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!
I was homeless five years ago a group of five black young men were coming towards me and I thought for sure they were going to attack me but instead they gave me money and told me not to give up they would stop by once a week to bring me money and see how i was doing i was only homeless for four months but I will never forget those young men
Angels among us. 🥰
Friends forever so much Aloha around the world #Grateful 🙏 love you guys, thank you, #mahalo
The best story 😢 for the week 🎉❤😅
If all it takes to be part of the positivity and balance of humanity is listening to children......the why don't we do it more often ? I'm not a Christian, but Hallelujah for this child to be part of our future ! NOW....go do your part too !!!!
A child shall lead them
💚💚💚
Not sure Kelvin’s mission to help the homeless was achieved here.
Heart off gold
Awww!
Now let's see if this experience helps Mr. Busbice evolve into a compassionate human who abstains from killing ALL sentient beings...not just his own species.
Thanks for the stories Steve, ❤🎉😊 love tooyour family.
Such a sweet story that it made my day l watched it severally two angels crossed path❤❤❤

☀️✨💖✨☀️✝️🙏🏻🕊️
✨SPREAD THE LOVE FOREVER ✨
😊❤
Amen
The kid did a good thing but he needs to very careful you never know what the homeless people would do, they could hurt him I am just saying, he got lucky that this person wasn’t homeless but I am just saying the kid needs to be very careful & I am not judging the homeless people I know they are people too but I just don’t want the kid to get hurt?!
GREAT STORY, BUT YOU MISSED THE POINT!!!!!! THE IMPORTANCE WAS NOT THE DOLLAR, BUT THE TURNING POINT OF STORY WAS WHEN THE MAN WENT INTO THE CORNER TO PRAY AS HE HAD NOT DONE SO YET THAT MORNING. THAT BROUGHT GOD WHO INSPIRED THE BOY, WHO IN TURN INSPIRED THE MAN. LET GOD BE PRAISED, AND THEN THE STORY HAS ITS TRUE MEANING!!!!!!
Prayer is stupid. Kelvin is not.
As someone who has lost 90 pounds, the best thing you can teach that kid is how to eat. He is morbidly obese. Not making fun of him. He needs to go on a no sugar/no flour diet.
No sodas. No snacks. That is the best way to help Kelvin Ellis Jr. Great Kid.
Really???
That's your takeaway?
If his family could only give him a dollar for his grades and it was the only money he had, I'm guessing his family doesn't have a ton of money. And unfortunately, poorer folks will have poorer diets because stuff full of sugar and flour is cheap and more accessible. It's a very privileged take you have there. Also, you don't have any idea about his actual health. Is he on medication or does he have a condition that makes him heavier? Also, he's a growing boy and could shoot up in height very soon. This kid does a wonderful thing and your mind goes to "something is wrong with him and I know how to 'fix' him"? This is NOT the way.
Not here pal. Not now.

Great story
