5:50 This officer is definitely a great representation of the police in our country. He did a lot of work to de-escalate the circumstances put to him, and he was reasonable, talking to the (fake) warden without being condescending or irrational.

You couldn't have them clamped because clamping is illegal. Also the parking rules for police, ambulance and fire are different. They require their vehicles to be close at hand at all times. For example: if I as a member of the ambulance service need to pop into the shop to grab a drink but there are double yellow lines outside the shop, I park it on the double yellows. This is because I cannot waste time going to find a parking space. What happens if we get a job whilst in the shop etc? I have to be able to leave quickly rather than waste precious minutes getting back to the vehicle. Also if there is an officer in the vehicle then it's technically not parked, it's waiting.

Not that smart, the law changed a couple of years ago regarding being in your car when a ticket is issued. You can no longer claim you were in your car and not parked, you'll still get a ticket.

Yes, our Police are fucking brilliant, I've been parked up in a remote area once after an altercation with an ex, and a cop pulls up and just starts talking to me about it giving me advice and the like.
No guns, no unnecessary aggression. It's a privilege to have these guys serve the public

I actually have respect for a lot of police officers. They sacrifice their lives every day to make life safer for us. It's a problem when their power gets to their head and they think they are superior humans and can talk to or treat people however they like.

Funny thing is that police officers imply the law yet they don't know the law themselves. No traffic wardon is allowed to ticket government vehicles but the police officers are crying about it and acting like normal people who get tickets.

I don't know about UK law, but here in germany there is actually a difference. _Halten_ (halting) is anything up to a few minutes without leaving the car, e.g. to load or drop off passengers or parcels, whereas _Parken_ (parking) is when you are there for longer or when you leave your car. In some places _Halten_ is allowed, but _Parken_ is not (e.g. at bus stops) - in others both is prohibited (e.g. in emergency lanes).

As far as I know, officers dealing with Terrorism crimes don't sit in a fully-marked vehicle in an area not normally used for parking. They are a bit more subtle than that, they blend in.....
Omar Smith there's obviously many forms of counterterrorism. They were clearly there to be seen as a presence to deter anything including terrorism. There's always a heavier police presence at the populated landmarks for a reason..
You don't know much then, nothing worse than non-police telling the police how they should do their job, or how they should "blend in"... it's called overt operation, acts as a deterrent.
Armed police are dotted around strategically in hotspots. You can be sure there are also undercover police but showing presence is also important.
