- This entire concert (with some abbreviated moments) was shot by my father with his handheld camcorder. This was my second Duran Duran concert ever. My Dad and I were big fans. He passed away in 2007. Dad, thanks for filming this so that it could one day be shared with other DD fans!
precious footage for all us Poptrash/Medazzaland era fans ♥
I know right.
Medazzaland gets frequent plays to this day for me.
@@mbrew3244 on a recent long haul flight, I had both Medazzaland and Pop Trash on repeat - as I've got older, I've appreciated these albums WAY more.
Seeing Nick Rhodes riding in the back of A pickup truck at the Houston Rodeo...is something I never thought I’d see...SOFA KING AWESOME!
I was born in Texas (Dec/2000) and 2 months later, my mom took me to that concert with my father... My uncle recorded a VHS where I'm in my mother's arms dancing with her *"Ordinary World"*
I love my mom, for such a great memorie with her. ❤ :')
Brilliant and am delighted to be able to watch it. Been a fan of DD since 1981. This is an era I overlooked at the time for two reasons. First Medazzaland was never available in the UK except on random and expensive import. Second there was absolutely no airplay for DD back then. I discovered it only via a chance purchase of their DVD and heard " Electric Barbarella" for the first time... What the HELL have I been missing? And Medazzaland and Pop Trash are my favourite DD albums. They should have been a heck of a lot more popular at that time than they were.
The lack of promotion, plus a change in sound to something more mature/almost prog rock (for Pop Trash) just seemed to pull these away from the airwaves.
Wes ❤him.thank you for sharing this is awesome
At this point, Nick and Simon decided, 'We have to get the band back together."
Your Dad was a total Dude for filming this :)
Saw them in Dallas during that tour. So fun. RIP Wes.
Poptrash 20th anniversary and I'm doing a DD exploration of Warren's era on FB. Kudos.
So, this was Duran Duran's "..couldn't get arrested" phase? Wow! I wish I'd been able to see them at this point!😀
Estupendo gracias gracias Duran Duran por no olvidarse de sus fans
Amazing era with Warren and duran duran. Love this!! What a great band. Thanks for the post!!!!
This is amazing, Elvis Has Just Entered The Building. Loved this band.
Simon Le Modern Elvis.
All the best
3:01 I hear ya Simon. 😂 Great footage thank you for posting. God bless.
I was at this show and it was highly enjoyable!
Thanks for posting this - I think this was an extra- ordinarily talented band. RIP WES.
I know Paper Gods is very commercial (my favourite albums are Medazzaland and Big Thing) but it IS a good album.
I met Wes after the HOB Anaheim show a month after this. He was so sweet and hung out with us for over an hour. Sexy as hell, too. RIP sweet soul.
Thank you for sharing this , sorry about your loss.
Awesome. Great Memory with your Dad. Thanks for sharing.
thanks so much for sharing this!
Wow this is awesome. I love Simons walk
I wish the Houston Rodeo will have them back. That year they had Def Leppard, Duran Duran, Destiny’s Child, Brooks & Dunn, Barry Manilow and many more. Not since, has there been such a year of diversity in music.
hearing hallucinating elvis and lady xanax live is a treasure, shame the footage on the screens wasnt captured
Thanks!
Simon is in surprisingly good voice on the opening songs
Awesome memory! Was this the bassist who died a few years later of cancer? I saw this tour and then went to the Astronaut tour
I remember reading that there was a rodeo show before the concert and half the audience left before the band came on. And the band had to walk through cow shit to get to the stage.
Damn I miss Warren
Warren could produce Chino moreno’s band crosses and just flick his hand under his chin at Duran . While joining Crosses on tour
is the stage rotating???
that's so cool !!
We need warren back
Who's on drums?
Is JohnT on bass? It doesn't look like him.
Simon sounds Wonderful. Nick looks gorgeous.
Wes Wehmiller is the bassist
Electric Barbarella has never sounded right since Warren left the band.
Verdade, porque quem faz a versão melhor na música Electric Barbarella somente o Warren😁
What a weird venue to play at
These guys are a better live band than the reformed Duran .
+Jason Forbes maybe it is because they are over 50+ years old. Yes very sad about Wes.
@Jason Forbes Hi Jason, I saw them at Berkley in 2015, they weren't bad but I hear ya. I love having John and Roger back, they just need a full time guitarist - Warren or Andy. I'll take Andy because I'm a sucker for vintage Duran Duran.
@@mbrew3244 they filled in the hole with people like John Frusciante and Graham Coxon in the studio so it’s telling.
@@Reprodestruxion ...they need to settle on a 5th member guitarist and stop with this revolving door of side guys...get Andy back or make Coxson a full-time member.
@@mbrew3244 you know who would be great ? Nick Zinner, But he’d look like he’s doing community service
RANDY JUDAH TALK 🎼❤️
The sound of Medazzaland and Pop Trash are brillhant and they are playing so weel as musicians, but I don´t know why but this sound has no connection with their 80´s stuff, sounding like a different band, but it sounds Duran Duran! But at least for me they don´t look happy.
Simon always relentlessly followed whatever fashion was in. That Oasis hairstyle was the absolute worst.
Right after the very short 1990 soul artist haircut.
