I wonder if it's possible that the two ideas have entirely separate origins, but we'll get some synthesis of the two in the future, possibly bringing some of those Visions concepts into canon?
I wasn't huge on the idea of The High Republic when it was announced, but I've honestly been pleasantly suprised by it. I wish there was more of this stuff and I hope it keeps coming!
late reply I know but I'm getting caught up now. I think the reason you, myself, and so many others were disappointed by the announcement of the High Republic was because we were all hoping for the Old Republic to enter canon. But now seeing how great High Republic has been, I'm personally in no rush to get to the Old Republic anymore and I think that's for the best.
The repository is pressumably where the Vizla stole Taare Vizla's lightsaber from. It's always been implied that the Jedi keep the lightsabers they can retrieve and store them. I called it the lightsaber crypts in a fic I wrote, but it makes sense the Jedi wouldn't want to label it a crypt and make it a symbolic graveyard. Also the real lesson from this is so Cavan Scott writes a whole lot.
I loved Tera Sinube in The Clone Wars and I was pleasantly surprised how prominently included he was in Dooku: Jedi Lost but he also dates back to the height of the High Republic too?!? I love that! He and Yoda are mentioned to go way back but I didn't think it meant that far. I just love seeing characters like him get used and expanded on in other media.
So Ahsoka renamed herself Ashla after jedi moon of Tython to hide during jedi purge and Obi-wan Kenobi renamed himself Ben Kenobi. They are very bad at hiding who they are.
At least Ahsoka gave herself a brand new name. Obi-Wan took a single cursory glance at a book of baby names, decided on "Ben", and apparently was too busy sitting in his dirt hut staring at the wall to even CONSIDER ditching his last name
Just finished the book. Ugh, I don’t want to wait for the next book!! A couple little nods I loved: - Elzar Mann force choking Amarant - Pan yelling “it’s a trap!”
Been craving this video ever since I finished Rising Storm. The boom was a total whirlwind that I finished in like a day and would love to see what I missed. Thanks Alex!
Also the mention of stims (from fallen order) being this drug that you can get addicted to I thought was really interesting! Coz in fallen order it’s a simple health booster game mechanic used by you the player. Seeing it recontextualised in the book as a drug used by the antagonist was really shocking and intriguing
I love how this novel connected with all of the High Republic novels and comics that have come out as of yet. Especially when you hear something like "Buckets of Blood is ready for action!"
It's surprising to me to see more familiar faces besides Yoda in this time period. I guess there are more species with super long lifespans than I realized
I really enjoyed the book and appreciate the video. Also, I wish you could do a video summarizing the book, mentioning any future implications as well.
Litteraly I just finished The Rising Storm and every chapter Cavan Scott gave another object to make me think ooo what's that !!!!! Especially every time Orba Lin was around and by the way ORBA LIN IS SO AWESOME !!!!! CAN WE GET A SPIN-OFF FOR HIM PLEASE 😂😂😂😂😂 I also loved Elzar and Stellan's relationship in this book, they reminded me a lot of Anakin and Obi Wan 😃😃😃
It sounds like this Star Wars creator has been doing some paleontology research. There is a direct evolutionary line between fish to amphibians to reptiles to birds.. the scales on fish to the plates on reptiles to the feathers on birds. Many fossils found of velocaraptors show them with small, attached feathers. So a Star Wars character that is a cross between a reptile and a bird is indeed plausible; not science fantasy.
The Texts of Brus'bru are probably similar to the Chronicles of Brus'bru, mentioned as being part of Luke/Rey's Jedi Texts, in The Rise of Skywalker junior novel...
Very nice Video, i love Easter egg Videos. I watch them after i tead the book. Why did you didn't take a picture from OrbinLa he was in the Marvel Comics
I’m not sure the statues we see in Attack of the Clones are the Corridor of the Lost, since that is only Masters, and Elzar indicates the Corridor features Knights too.
I'm pretty sure the blood moon uprising is a reference to Gromas, also known as the blood moon, a location that appeared in the legends game Dark Forces. The blood moon is said to be the place of origin of a staff made of phrik, a lightsaber-resistant metal that was mined on Gromas.
You missed one. In the starlight exhibit stellan gios and orbalin mention the advancement tokens. Those were seen in the jedi path book both mentioned and as a physical object
I recently bought this and was unable to get out of the 2nd chapter. Those two chapters came off very ..... well the mention of the chick's head tails resting on her breast loI was very sexual from the sound the author has a thing for he species . The only author that has given me that feel but I won't go there it was definitely enough to get a real feel of the author who she is and what she thinks lol. I will come back to it but man I just want some jedi lore and within two chapters I got none. I'm glad I wasn't able to find the previous installments but I had to get the hard back so I will read it . Reminds me of the second thrawn novel featuring vader on the cover only Zahn novel I haven't been able to complete.
“The days of the mystic nine” makes me immediately think to the Visions short “The Ninth Jedi”
Yeah when I read that sentence, I was wondering “no way these two are related.”
God I hope so!

It is believed that a part of the essence of the saber's creator is infused into it. So they are maintaining a record of fallen Jedi.
Ohh that's such a good point to bring in Taare Vizla!

I love OrbaLin, he’s literally a Star Wars nerd, in Star Wars
Too bad only, that the objects in the Jedi-gallery were very boring.
Just finished the book. Ugh, I don’t want to wait for the next book!!
A couple little nods I loved:
- Elzar Mann force choking Amarant
- Pan yelling “it’s a trap!”
Even though that encounter with the amarant was a set up I'm still really surprised Stellan was ok with Elzar dipping into the dark side like that
Been craving this video ever since I finished Rising Storm. The boom was a total whirlwind that I finished in like a day and would love to see what I missed. Thanks Alex!

Yes maybe the addictive side effects were taken out in the following years allowing them to be healthier options
Star Wars: the high republic by Cavan Scott and friends. Dude is as busy as Brandon Sanderson nowadays
Hey Alex!! Could "The Days of The Mystic Nine" be in reference to the upcoming episode of Star Wars Visions titled "The Ninth Jedi?"
Also Exar Kun's battle hydra (as a mythological creature) and jedi lords are referenced
I love how this novel connected with all of the High Republic novels and comics that have come out as of yet. Especially when you hear something like "Buckets of Blood is ready for action!"
I just finished The Rising Storm and I am not okay
It's surprising to me to see more familiar faces besides Yoda in this time period. I guess there are more species with super long lifespans than I realized
they kinda extended their lifespans, Yarael Poof and Oppo Rancisis were a lot younger in EU
The beast riders on Onderon were also prominent in KoTOR 2, but Idk if they were specific to KoTOR 2
They first appeared in Tales of the Jedi, I believe
Just finished this book. That ending, damn...
I really enjoyed the book and appreciate the video. Also, I wish you could do a video summarizing the book, mentioning any future implications as well.
BELL ZETTIFAR... Remember that name.
He should be promoted to full fledged Jedi Knight.

As Alex mentioned. Species has been around for decades. Dating back to the expanded universe. Clearly Scott just wanted to plug it back into canon.
The Days of the Mystic Nine might be a reference to the Visions episode, *Ninth Jedi*
Interesting stuff... thanks, Alex! ✨
Alex , not sure if you noticed but OrbaLin also appeared in the marvel High Republic comic series
You missed the Togruta referring to the Jedi by the honorific "Lord Jedi" which may be a reference to the Jedi Lords from the Bane era Old Republic.
The Kyber Mirrors makes me think of the mirrors Rey saw her visions in on Ach-To
The Texts of Brus'bru are probably similar to the Chronicles of Brus'bru, mentioned as being part of Luke/Rey's Jedi Texts, in The Rise of Skywalker junior novel...
Brilliant review. Thank You.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
I just finished the book. Such a sad ending but I can't wait to start the next novel..
Didn't Bendu mention Ashla and Boga?
"The light and the dark, the Ashla and Bogan. Two sides of the same coin"
I thought that too! The names stuck out to me
Ashla and Bogan are the two moons of Tython, and in legends were the basis of the jedi philosophy I believe
Yep! The Ashla is also what that elderly Lasat used to reference the force as a whole.
@@joemullarkey5719That's right! How could I forget that!
Very nice Video, i love Easter egg Videos. I watch them after i tead the book. Why did you didn't take a picture from OrbinLa he was in the Marvel Comics

The tiger Jedi 😂😂

There was a level in Dark Forces that took place on The Blood Moon. I miss Lore Plays.
The connection is made even more clear by the fact that phrik is linked to the blood moon in both the novel and Dark Forces
Mon calamari are people, and I did not know that.
Gasp! Is everyone on the council dead? I better hurry then, my time is short.
It's a trap!
If y’all didn’t know, Ahsoka was originally called Ashla in the concept stages of The Clone Wars.
And she went under the name Ashla when she was hiding from the empire.
You missed one. In the starlight exhibit stellan gios and orbalin mention the advancement tokens. Those were seen in the jedi path book both mentioned and as a physical object
I hope after there done with high republic we get old republic
Came straight to this video to seek emotional refuge after reading the traumatising end of The Rising Storm. I'm still reeling
isn't Ashla mentioned in the Rebels episode with the Lasat? I'm certain the Lasat Elder cites it at least twice...
Forgot to bring up the mention of Jinda dancers from the Ewok cartoon
Awesome
slowly but surely thing from empire at war are returning, I really want a remake/reboot of it.
This video, as well as its done and as well as your videos are . I trust them. Nothing of this video is really ebbing me on to read this novel
My favourite… the bantha milkshake!
The Days of the Mystic Nine sounds like an Easter egg to the Nazgûl from LOTR
Where is Yaddle?
Time to dust of some legends novels
Life Day gets a shout out!
yeah, i always liked master poof. it sucks they killed him off after just one film
I just think that's nice
It's pronounced "Mar-she-on", not "Mar-key-on".
Cavan Scott himself pronounces it as mar-key-on.
I don’t care what the authors say. I’ll always pronounce it as March (like the month) eon.
I want more star dragons! lol
Jedi vs Sith code
Droopy McCool forever

Wow almost nothing really interesting smfh. Thanks for the videos I wish I had watched this before my purchase
