Not just for dbd but for any game. I played console R6S heavily for a few years before dbd and watching my gameplay from when I first started to my most recent games, you can see how well my aim was refined and how much more precise I was. Not saying I was godlike or anything but 2 years of experience definitely showed
@@CodPatrol not really trickster is one of the easier one too becuase he got verry fast throwing and he has bounce ones so its easier for trickster to hit people
Watching CoconutRTS videos is always an amazing experience because he always shows you that Huntress has way more depth than just being an hatchet thrower.
19:01 I like how killer is just standing there, and the survivor is moving towards the killer, probably thinking.." I hear the terror radius getting louder! he must be chasing me!" in reality survivor chasing the killer xD.
I can relate to this guy playing on controller, huge learning curve but YOU are not locked at a low skill level, you can do it with lots of hours and practice. I myself have lots of nice snipes on my channel… if I had to say the hard thing it would be that hitting a needle thread shot in quick moments can be challenging because you have less control using an analog stick instead of a mouse
a missed hatchet can also zone survivors into situations they may not like, or still denies them what you were pulling up for in the first place. mindgames really are important
So the problem with killer controls in this game with controller is that there is not enough aim settings to tinker with. Everything feels flicky or twitchy. If BHVR could figure out basic settings such as aim ease in or dead zone tweaks it would be a much more consistent experience. Honestly shouldn’t be difficult to add these features for QoL, as these controller settings are in every modern game.
@@KatyaAbc575 I would describe aim ease-in or aim smoothing as the feeling of the analog stick ramping up to your sensitivity that you’ve selected. So basically it’s smoother movement when you start your aim and as you hold a direction the sensitivity can increase.
@@billyray6210 I agree. Some people like aim smoothing setting though and they always add more depth to controllers analogs so they should add more than just dead zone
I've been playing PC Hunty for years. I have always player her like this. I still mess up sometimes every match, but that's because no two survivors ever dodge the same. I too use Iron Maiden+Lethal+Darkness, but I add NTH as my fourth perk (more uses than Bitter Murmur). Prediction snipes are always really satisfying to hit, and I encourage more Huntresses to play in the prediction playstyle.
What’s different about a huntress, maybe even slinger mains on console is the patience. You aren’t going to be able to flick shots so your predictions and precise aims need to be on point. You can even see here he plays on a much lower sensitivity in order to adjust slightly if he needs to.
As someone who is now only just starting to main Huntress and other ranged killers on console, the head turn is something I've done by default because I thought that was what a "flick" was for me as a console player. You're right tho, it probably does mess with the survivors heads a bit too
Not going to lie when I first started playing the game I used huntress and I was already on controller. I like her because I always threw the tomahawks in the call of duty games and she was kind of similar to that, so I picked up on her really easily. People always think it takes skill to play huntress when whole time all you got to do is just know when and where to throw. When chasing a survivor just think in your head"what would I do if I was the survivor right now?"
At 2:30 he looks away because when the hatchet goes wide to predict the dodge. The survivor still sees the killer face back toward the pallet and it messes with them so they think the hatchet went tight and they go wide into the hatches and get hit. It’s weird I know but it works for sure Edit: because the throw is a little delayed and takes a second to reach them it’ll make them kinda second guess where it went even tho it already left her hand
Question Coconut. Do you accept gameplay review requests? And if so is there a specific way to go about it? I kinda want your opinion on my huntress gameplay. I'm a mobile player, I'm definitely not the best but I have my moments. I'm also curious if you'll see some big differences between mobile and PC/console.
As someone who's grown up with both a PC and a console, I prefer the console myself. I also feel more comfortable playing DbD using a controller. It amazes me, not that people can play with a controller and are good, but the reaction that other people have when they see someone play with a controller and have control over we the most miniscule movements. As someone who has used a controller all my life, it just comes naturally to me. I sometimes play around when playing games by turning the camera using a "cinematic" style of movement with the camera.
I'm intrigued to know what kind of sensitivity this dude uses it seems like 60-75% at least. As an Xbox player that has close to 4,5 k hrs seemed like an amazing showcase. My opinion tho is u can flick with controller best on 100% sensitivity and get really good flicks on close up ppl that try to dodge, reason why is also have alot of experience on huntress. Would be an honor to showcase some of my matches as huntress on controller
one thing with huntress on controller is you rely a lot more on moving yourself into position than you would on keyboard and mouse since it's just a lot harder to get precise with stick
Honestly for Huntress there are both advantages and disadvantages for high/low sensitivity respectively. In a lot of competitive FPS games it's bad to have high sensitivity as it makes your aim less precise. Dead By Daylight also does not have separate settings for "aim sensitivity" and "look sensitivity" that most FPS do, though most gaming mouses have sensitivity toggles for this.
PS4 Huntress main. I love the night and day of console vs PC, it makes us a lil special 🥰 I think every console huntress flicks this way because it's the best method imo
I'm on mobile. I will often flick as I throw because hatchets have a similar mechanic as Trickster's knives. There is a fraction of a second after you throw where you can still change the hatchets trajectory. I believe trickster has a longer window of time in comparison though... I don't use him tho, I'm a huntress main.
If I would main a killer, it would be The Huntress. She's fun to play. It's difficult on the controller to flick shots and attempt orbitals. It is expected for a Huntress main to be highly skilled. His two matches have no add-ons. He could be P0 Huntress main and still play the same way in predicting, flicking, looking away on throws, and taking risky shots. He's impressive, and I'm envious of his skilled shots. Being P100 on any character is a flex. It only means the person spent a lot of time to max out a character.
I play on pc huntress with 600 hours and for this comment I am referring to the looking away after throwing (example 2:22) what I do is sometimes I will do a large panning shot where I start to one side and end on the other (left to right for example) and it is really effective at tricking survivors if youy let go of the hatchet at some point during the pan and keep panning it will be very difficult to predict for the survivor learn from this man controller or not.
I don't understand why people think console is like awful or impossible. Ive consistently for 6+ years shit on the majority being pc players and swfs on controller. If you use controller every day for 15-20 years its no different than m+kb you get used to it. The only differences are limits and that's not our fault i max all my sensitivity but our cap is lower than pcs cap.
Totally agree i think you can be very good huntress blight nurse on controller however you would also do better if you switch to mk the same thing can’t be said about survivor imo
It's funny bc i used to be a huntress main on console and i always did the look to the left after throwing thing but it was never to psychology trick the survivor but instead it was just a weird habit I developed due to input delay so sometimes the hatchet lets go a little later when im looking to the side so sometimes it acts like a half flick and gets the survivor when they dodge. Other times when it lets go early, it gets hits like n the vid.
I feel like i might have faced this guy once before cross platform, i will never forget the match, we got 3 of down within the first 3 minutes of the match, only reason i didn't go down right away was because i was running distortion, be literally sniped us from across the map, would hook one of us and the. Us barbecue to snipe us the next target and so on
I am a pc player with 1400h and main huntress. I have around 300 hours on her, and feel like I can learn more but I keep being stuck at the same level. What should I do?
The concept is very similar to Wesker, if not the same. Predicting movements and trying to figure out which survivor is unpredictable. I feel like having patience as a killer also causes hesitation in not being 100% confident in hits, making it more difficult to learn good or fast flicks. At least that's what I feel. But of course, there's a difference between Huntress and Wesker, as she has more chances for hits during a chase. It's nice to see controller killers can do well too, though, especially with high-skill ceiling killers.
I play on Xbox. The flick is possible but not easy at all. Best thing about this gameplay is the no gen defense build. Pure fun but even with a p100 huntress who is hitting a lot of very difficult shots the matches are incredibly close. And theses survivors were good but not top tier on gens which is unfortunately what you run into a lot. Against a die hard SWF the ttd will just be too high comparable to their time to gen completion. It’s why this game really needs more game modes to encourage this very fun play style. Still very entertaining gameplay and analysis
