Happy retirement, life throws curveballs and you just have to go with it. So often it ends up for the better. In retirement I started off making clothes for myself, got fed up of that and started quilting which I do lots of now. Quilting and applique gives me an outlet for my love of colours. Your surroundings look idyllic, it would be good to see how you both get on in the community.

I traveled by car for several months last year (Denver to Florida and back to California) with my cat and dog and was pleasantly surprised how well my cat traveled. It's nice to be settled now, though.

It has taken me a long time to adjusting to sewing “for the life I have now” and still struggle as I love fashion and trends despite being 68 in a couple of weeks. Was so happy to see your new post. I will enjoy watching any of your content. I've never heard of community housing and would like hearing more about it when you feel like it. Love the top you're wearing. The view from your bedroom is so beautiful. Are there nice areas around you for walking/hiking ? Looks like there could be. We just retired in 2024 and love it. Currently I've not been sewing clothes as much but dipping into quilting. I bounce around with my hobbies. We're waiting for cooler fall weather to do a bit of traveling. I have found myself watching UA-cam channels recently of others that have retired to see how people are spending their time.

It’s taking me a long time to come to grips with the wardrobe I need now so I was very interested in what you had to say. Good luck and enjoy your trip to Europe.
I was going to suggest same. A "she-shed" to let you have a quiet place to retreat and let the creative juices flow. I'm retired 2 years now and hubby 12 years. We're together all the time and I find setting aside me times gives us more to talk about when we are together ❤️. All the best in your new journey! Lovely house!

So lovely to see you again,retirement channel would work just great ,I’m turning 64 in January that means , that I only need to push 2 more years to my own retirement and to be honest I’m so done with all the new organizations and new systems not to mention all updates that pops up all the time. I’m going to follow you no matter what you are going to make with this channel.Lovely surroundings and the house seems to be just right when you are retired.my apartment is just as big as your house ,but I think I need to move to smaller apartment soon and I’m fine with that.have a great week ❤

Honestly, I don't care what you talk about or how long - I just love hearing it! I think that transition to retirement is a bit like becoming an empty-nester. Waking up and thinking 'what am I supposed to do today?' I think it doesn't take long before you're thinking 'what can I do today?' and 'what do I get to do today?' Have a fantastic, leisurely time in the North! Sounds like you'll be visiting aplenty! You seem, at least from your videos, to be the extrovert to your husband's introvert. With my husband, it's the opposite. Good combinations either way if you ask me! As for your channel - you should make it whatever you like. Just change the name, you'll keep all of us and we won't have to go searching for you. I've always loved knowing and watching you. If you can get over to North America, come down and see me in Florida. It would be my pleasure entirely. xox

Deb it's just great to see you again. I'm so happy for the changes for you and that you're enjoying yourself. It is a big change after retiring wardrobe changes activity changes in life is more casual. Of course I have also become a widow in the last few years and that changes everything also. I agree on the sewing sometimes I can't get motivated because I don't need more things and I often get stuff from charity shops and just have too much stuff anyhow. However sometimes I try to sew some things not close but other things for some other people and that's enjoyable. I have a huge yard over 2 acres to take care of and that keeps me busy also. I volunteer at a thrift shop that money goes to hospice which is great. I do hope you will continue on UA-cam because just seeing your :-) and listening to you always just adds some joy to my life. 😊 Please keep in touch with us would love to know how you're doing.

why not change the channel to Slap happy living and the focus it on living as a retiree, include your travel, cooking, sewing and arts. whatnot around your new community if you want.. life in general . You decide whether you want your share your travels, sights you see etc.. Your sewing mojo might come back as you do not want to live in the same clothes for ever. Maybe you will see something new each season for the fun and pleasure and with each season you can declutter your wardrobe.. It obvious your social life will get busy being retired and in your estate. It lovely to see you back in any form you choose.

Just change the name, you'll keep all of us and we won't have to go searching for you. I've always loved knowing and watching you. Deb it's just great to see you again. I'm so happy for the changes for you and that you're enjoying yourself. It is a big change after retiring wardrobe changes activity changes in life is more casual. Of course I have also become a widow in the last few years and that changes everything also. I agree on the sewing sometimes I can't get motivated because I don't need more things and I often get stuff from charity shops and just have too much stuff anyhow. However sometimes I try to sew some things not close but other things for some other people and that's enjoyable. I have a huge yard over 2 acres to take care of and that keeps me busy also. I volunteer at a thrift shop that money goes to hospice which is great. I do hope you will continue on UA-cam because just seeing your :-) and listening to you always just adds some joy to my life. 😊 Please keep in touch with us would love to know how you're doing.

Excited to see you pop up again. Great catching up. It is interesting to follow your life changes and hear about your new situation. Even positive change is stressful. I love being retired. It is true that you don't need a lot of clothes in retirement so pivoting to other hobbies does happen. I'd watch anything you post.
Your new life sounds wonderful, so pleased for you. My son lives in NZ, also the South Island, he’s near Wanaka - I’m on the South Coast of the UK. Without giving too much away, what region are you? I’m planning on a visit next year, like to get out there every 2 or 3 years, such an amazing country.

How about a channel that includes the “workmen’s” of your community with a little sewing and needlework thrown in.

Slap happy living and the focus it on living as a retiree, include your travel, cooking, sewing and arts. whatnot around your new community if you want.. life in general . You decide whether you want your share your travels, sights you see etc..
Your sewing mojo might come back as you do not want to live in the same clothes for ever. Maybe you will see something new each season for the fun and pleasure and with each season you can declutter your wardrobe.. It obvious your social life will get busy being retired and in your estate. It lovely to see you back in any form you choose.
