Hi Dave, I have found once around the metal edge with a Dremel sanding stone to put a very small chamfer on the outside works every time. I have done a number of these 👍
2:44 look closer to this frame. In the original plug pins are slightly skewed counterclockwise from the top notch and the "new" plug is symmetrical. This is what I was talking about in previous video.

That is a good idea. If it is just 1/2 mm then it wouldn't take much.
