This is true. I watch a guy install one in our truck at work. A week later I heard that an electrician got dragged in to the front office for a brow beating. He was caught driving their truck home doing 82 in a 75 zone for 8 miles. It is under the dash, plugged into the OBD-II plug. Thank god that my boss got fired or he would be on the computer checking on every move that we make.
