    Really cool to see the different selections at Kinokuniya and Kimonoya. I only have a Books-A-Million near me, so my selection when shopping in person is pretty limited. When shopping online, I mainly go to Amazon. I've recently been using Rightstuf for blu-rays, but I might start ordering my manga from there as well.

      I felt this one 😂. Amazon is usually my go to for online buys unless I’m bulk then i go to rightstuf.

      @@simonsaburou definitely go back when you get chance 😅 lots of good food and anime stores… I mean DUHH. But I’d recommend Marukai Market, Orochan Ramen, Prime Pizza, and Shinsegumi for the food spots :)

    I typically shop at Kinokuniya for my manga since I buy in Japanese. Actually volume 19 is the most recent volume of JJK both 18 and 19 had special edition releases eighteen came with an Acrylic calendar and nineteen came with a lot of goodies as well. Volume twenty is due out next month as well. You can also order from Kinokuniya online as well. Spend $50 for free shipping. I have ordered from them twice before as well. I typically buy figures from anime conventions since there is a vendor that does 2 for $45. I was actually in at Kinokuniya in Little Tokyo two weekends ago. The first book you saw in the BL Japanese section was probably an art book for a specific series. Some BL series have their art or illustration books alongside their manga volumes. Great video as well I really enjoy the kinokuniya in San Francisco more two stories one floor dedicated to Japanese manga magazines manga light novels etc plus the English manga and light novels. They typically have a display for junji ito and also for manga for the current anime season as well. They also have a spot with bilingual manga as well. The second floor in San Francisco has language learning books a section dedicated to Studio Ghibli Japanese books for all ages novels both in English and Japanese regular Japanese magazines about fashion art etc stationery etc. I feel the closest Kinokuniya to Georgia would possibly be in New York or New Jersey. There are five Kinokuniya stores in California as a whole three in Southern California (Los Angeles Santa Monica and Torrance) and two in Northern California (San Francisco and San Jose).

      Now i kinda wish i bought that jjk volume 😂 and i didn’t even think about the possibility that Kino has an online store so big thanks for that! I really want to check out the one in San Francisco because I’ve been wanting to collect more Japanese manga even though i can’t read it but they just look really cool to me! I’ve been to the one in New York and i liked it way more than the one in little Tokyo but i wish i knew that there was one in Santa Monica because i was over there while i was in Cali!

    The book at 2:10 is called "Binanshi Sakuga" and it's a book by professional mangakas that teaches you how to draw "binanshi (beautiful boys)".

    Hello I wanna ask you something I wanna buy 20thcb the perfect editions but I also have to finish getting jjk and opm do you think 20thcb will go out of print any time soon or will it always be available?

      Also great vid bro and I always buy from shops I don’t trust online cause I am scared the manga would come damaged

    • @simonsaburou
      @simonsaburou  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I personally don’t think 20thcb will be going out of print anytime soon, mostly because they a lot of viz sig titles and a lot of order via manga have been getting over printed. I do think if you’re worried about it then it might be best to prioritize getting those instead of jjk and opm especially because 20thcb is already complete. However it is $20 a volume or so, so i definitely understand wanting to save it for last.

    I wasn’t a huge fan of To Strip the Flesh. I liked the title story and the one called Hot Watermelon but the rest was just okay. If you’re really interested I would wait for a sale or buy it digitally (like I did) since it’s cheaper. It’s not one I would’ve kept in my collection if I had bought it physical.

      @@simonsaburou You and me both! But those chapters were still worth the read just not the price for the full volume ;) I think the mangakas storytelling is interesting though from the stories I liked so I’ll definitely give them a new chance if they release a full story in the future. It was obvious that the mangaka had been an assistant to Fujimoto from the Hot Watermelon chapter (from how the panels were drawn). Unless this was written before but the resemblance was definitely there.
