Am I the only one who thinks that this song is just talking about one person? Like he's having a hard time telling her love, how he truly feels?

The written lyrics here say tell her the truth. The actual words are tell her we're through. Also he doesn't miss her when he's away. He finds excuses not to hold her at night. She's a good wife but he loves someone else.
