My wife and I absolutely love your channel for episodes like this one. Chatting with locals, buying from their same vegetable carts, and the kids ❤❤❤!
    Love to you both,

Loved the schoolroom scenes -- and shots, Mr. F. -- of the kids. You're right: the best part of what you do is visiting the people ashore. And good for Diane giving her skills to these children! All best regards.

Another top quality episode thank you. I know you guys struggle against the UA-cam algorithms but honestly in all the sailing related channels I watch yours is always the most informative and interesting. It obvious that you love going out and meeting people in remote places but its great that you take the time to share it with us. Thank you again.

Thanks for the kind comment. There's still a sense of wonder when we discover new places, even after all these years 😃

You folks have hit on the key to a successful sailing channel on this one concerning the content. A sailing, destination channel. Personally I feel that as strictly sailing channel has seen its heyday on social media. And the way your narrative follows the discovery of your trips is spot on. The purpose of traveling I feel. Cudos

It's a lot like that on a boat. When the world was closed, and we were in Sabah, we had Mt Kinabalu to ourselves, and dived on Sipadan alone. Them were the days! Haha! Liz ⛰️🐠

Having lived in Indonesia for 18 years (1996-2014) I really enjoy your videos traveling through the country having been to many of the places you are visiting. I’ve evened named my trawler MV Bagus in recognition of my time there. 👍

Smart looking children happily attending school. 👏
The closest I've been to a lake filled caldera is Crater Lake in Oregon. The cold fresh water is inviting after you desend from its crest. One filled with salt water is fascinating. I wonder if there are fish? I've also visited Ocean Hole, Eleuthera. There are an abundance of colorful fish there.
Thanks for taking me on this adventure to an unknown (to me) location.

I think if we'd stayed longer we might have taken a dip. Not sure if there are fish there or not 🤔

Your excursion to the school takes me back to my happy time teaching English and a little Science to primary age (5-9) children in Thailand . I miss the interaction and the pleasure of seeing them loose their inhibitions and worries over trying to speak English. Happy days indeed.
PS thought you did pretty well under the circumstances of being thrown into it! 👌

I wonder how abundant the waters are around there. Do the local fisherman catch much fish? Oh, and thanks for your channel.

Volcano’s are like politicians, the moment you trust’em you are very likely to getting screwed! Ask me how I know, lol! By living in Chile many years ago and experiencing an exploding volcano from much closer than I ever liked to be!

Satonda reminds me of the Island of Niuafp'ou , Also Known as Tin Can Island in the South Pacific .

A bit of history on the year without summer 1816 after the eruption of Mt Tambora. The Americac's and Europe were affected by darkness, loss of crops and temperature drop of 3 deg C avg. During that summer, Mary Shelley and her husband, along with Lord Byron, were vacationing on Lake Geneva. Influenced by this traumatic occurance, Shelley wrote Frankenstein. Lord Byron wrote a poem Darkness (very grimm poem). Estimated over 70K ppl died from the eruption and eventual starvation and or cold temps.
