Hermaeus's quest is rather dull compared to other Daedric quests so I appreciate you for making it more entertaining.
Thank you! It's genuinely a bummer when I hit vital filler quests & need to cover them. It's uplifting when I can make it fit the narrative & sometimes add something. Tbf though, the only reason I have a platform is other people's amazing writing ✍️ 👏 cheers though!

@@iso-didact789Huh? It’s locked up in Skyrim, 200 years after this game. I fail to see why that requires a retcon. Mora is an all-knowing Daedric Prince, so it wouldn’t be hard for him to maneuver the book into the Dwemer cave in that interval.
@@heswallowedburningcoals19 It was the dwemer who found and locked it up. Even hermy couldn't get to it, which is why he used septimus and the dragonborn to get it.

Even though I've played all of these quests countless times, I still love watching these series. They are done so well and I like the little bits that I may have missed previously
I somehow never came across this particular shrine! In the hundreds of hours I put into Oblivion when I was younger
I never knew how to activate it back in the day. So wild that OG Bethesda would put such an obscure shrine in as the last

2:14 I always thought Oblivion was full of bugs but every time I see how the devs worked around engine constraints with those weird hidden cells or similar roundabout ways I think it has less bugs than it should.
I feel like the bug:content ratio got worse as Bethesda's time went on. Oblivion has so many bugs because of the sheer volume of content it has
Agree. I'm no Bethesda apologist in this day, but I'd take bugs for the volume of content in a heartbeat

I was about 11 or 12, and got every achievement on Xbox for oblivion. But never got to complete Hermaeus Mora’s quest. I went to my earliest save on my completed game in the sewers, and adjusted my things so I could do the quest. But I had to do every single quest all over again. It was worth it. I still only play on that one single save

Played this game for 20 years and had no idea someone comes to you after you sleep to start the quest.
I always do this quest along with brotherhood quest🤣

I waited to use the book until I was max level. It boosted my stats past 100 and my level past the max. Pretty cool

Are there really no Khajiit or Argonians in Oblivion that have Vampirism? I guess I never noticed on my play through.. as an Argonian... Vampire...
You know, I've never tried an Argonian or Khajiit Mage Vampire before either in Skyrim. I'll give it a try after work today.
my first ever Oblivion character was a Khajiit who ended up being a vampire!

You can get these souls if you haven't cleaned the brotherhood theres 1 of each race in the sanctuary
I remember back when I did this quest it for some reason had the spell not work anymore and my quest log wouldn't update even though I most definitely did kill all 10 races needed for it. Never was sure what happened but probably was a bug that I couldn't fix
Unfortunately there's a LONG list of quest breaking bugs for this one 😔
if you hit the same enemy twice with the spell the quest breaks
I never got around to finding or finishing this quest. Comparatively dull, compared to the other daedric quests. At first, i thought the souls were required just to begin his quest (similar to leaving the offering)
I too forgot about this & definitely hope there's more added in skyblivion

Fun fact; most people use "sentient" wrong. It means able to sense things. Every animal is sentient. Even trees are sentient. The word we should be using is sapient, which means capable of conscious thought!

this quest coulda been cool if the real challenge was tracking down obscure races such as the sload and stuff, there are more than the usual 9 races we can play as

Last I heard there's at least an official remaster in the works that will be stable on modern computers, so you're in luck.

Good solution about killing Daedric worshipers. I wondered if I would play the game, if I would do these quests at all, given their nature... This evens it out a little.
I love your vids Dash, been watching your stuff the last 4 or 5 years and besides just your content in general I noticed that you seem to favor similar armor sets ans such. The iron armor set with a brown hood was my favorite clothing/armor amalgamation / until I found a green battle mage hood. I would either wear standard iron/legion armor or sometimes the blades armor sets with a hood. I also would use the zelots hood and robe from shivering isles after discovering the reflect magical buff from sigil stones.
Thank you! I try to keep the aesthetic more... relatable & uniform. Will def get something nicer in mages guild & probably cycle through each armor set in fighters guild. Agree on the green or even red mages hood!
