Tri's facial features reminds me of the Tower of the Gods in Wind Waker. She definitely gives off a more divine presence than any other "fairy" we've seen.
With Fi as the spirit of the Master Sword, it only makes sense Tri could be the essence of the Triforce, or at least be sent by the goddesses to aid Hylia's descendant

Oooo yeah the Tower of the Gods connection definitely seems there....I don't like the idea that every sacred relic in the franchise needs to have some 'essence' or 'embodiment.'

I thought that the eye and mouth connecting was just a representative of the staff also if you want a connection to the triforce maybe it’s connected to the essence of the triforce from a link to the past

remember that tri appeared for a reason, it helps zelda to help her

  • @a_kid_with_glasses_0538

What I thought the eye represents was actually the triforce. You mentioned Link’s cloak, and I noticed how two of the swirls seem connected while the third is on its own, similar to Tri’s features- 2 of the features connected while the third is on its own.
As for the triangles, I think those are actually indicative of how many echoes you can have at a time. There are several instances in the trailer where you can see that Tri has more triangles, and particularly in the water blocks clip you can see that the triangles vanish as Zelda makes more blocks, even hovering inside the blocks themselves. You can probably get more by doing quests during the game.
Also also, the connected pieces of the triforce could be 2 things imo:
The connected ones being Link and Zelda while the third is Ganon
Or (what I think is more likely if im right about the cloak design)
That the two connected pieces are Link and Ganondorf, trapped together in this world beyond worlds, while Zelda is separated from the both of them.

    • @LittleBeanGreen
      @LittleBeanGreen  7 місяців тому

Yeah I realize the triangles are for echoes - adding more doesn't take away from the 'accessory' style I wouldn't think.
Interesting about the two connected pieces and one unconnected piece - although I don't know why Link's cloak would suggest some connection or what exactly Tri would have to do with Ganondorf.

@@LittleBeanGreen In universe I can't imagine it means anything- but to the audience it might be symbolic of something to the plot.
If it does mean something in universe however, then it could be that tri is somehow related to whatever the design of the cloak and weapons are based on, whether that be twili, zonai, picori or something totally new.
A motif of a third 'thing' being separated from two other things could relate to whatever this game's backstory is.
Heck, it could straight up be Midna separating from Link and Zelda for all I know. Odds of that are slim to absolute zero, but who knows

The black on Tri’s eye could be a representation of the brief time that the Triforce of Wisdom was placed upon Midna by Zelda, who in turn has the power of Twilight. When Zelda is restored, the Triforce of Wisdom was given back to her. It gave me the hypothesis that both Zelda and Midna shared each other’s powers. Because the Triforce of Wisdom was in Midna, it became associated with Twilight. Zelda implies to have Twilight within her. (Especially in the Twilight Bow’s item description in the Era of the Wilds games; “wielded by the princess who fought alongside the hero against the forces of twilight”; even though it better describes Midna, but Zelda in spirit has been with Link from within Midna all along, and it was Zelda who wielded the bow, not Midna) So Midna’s initial mockery towards Zelda as “Twilight Princess” wasn’t too far-fetched. The “princess of twilight” title isn’t just solely for Midna, but also Zelda. (The “Princess of Twilight” paraglider fabric implies this too.) So by the end, Midna is part Wisdom and all Twilight and Zelda is all Wisdom and part Twilight. Nevertheless, both share the title of “Princess of Twilight”.
HOWEVER! Before we jump into conclusions on timeline placements, I would have to say that the placement of Echoes of Wisdom is definitely in the “downfall” timeline, but whether it’s before or after Link’s Awakening remains a mystery… So my hypothesis on Tri’s eye and the connection to the Child timeline doesn’t add up. Most have already argued over the placement of Four Swords Adventures and how Lorulean Historian pretty much “fixed” the timeline by making another timeline split in Minish Cap (I still fail to see how MC fits between SS and OOT…) and have both Four Swords titles in the new(er) split. Regardless, the downfall timeline is arguably the most convoluted of the original three in terms of inconsistencies. Nintendo never bothered having much thought on the subject, and frankly I shouldn’t care either… So I can say it’s there in the downfall timeline, but when exactly? I’ll just leave it up to you folks reading to argue about it…

For a long time, I’ve always wanted to conclude how the Child timeline wraps up. But given how much time it has been since Twilight Princess, I believe now it’s better off how it is… Everything between Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess is the chronology I’m attached to the most. And even if I wanted to continue after TP, it’s better off left for fan interpretation… especially for my headcanon of the “Smashing” life of Ultimate Zelda… lol! XD

Zelda having a fairy companion, im not broken up or angry about. Its a thing that has been done in previous games, it was done in Ocarina of Time since its the 1st 3D Zelda game, so i see no problem with Zelda having a fairy partner for her first playable main character foray. One part about that which does break convention to some degree is that Tri doesnt really LOOK like a fairy despite having a potentially larger role to play compared to other fairy partners. So far, theres been Ocarina, Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, and possibly Hyrule Warriors if you wanna include that. Phantom Hourglass's fairy partner Ciela had a role sort of like one of the 3 goddesses, but in the Ocean King's realm so its not THAT strong of a direct comparison since its not Hyrule.
This design for Tri is incredibly different from .... well a LOT of Zelda things lorewise! She kinda looks like those Koco from Sonic Frontiers or like a golden bell with little legs or maybe a whistle/flute instrument? All in all, im not sure what Tri's design is in reference to. But i do agree with LBG's theory about Tri being similar to Midna with being a dethroned ruler of this new Rift World we will soon explore! All we can really do is play the dang game at this point!
