The 6600 is an absolute beast of a performer for the low amount of power it draws. I still use it on a 1440p machine on upscaled/reduced settings as a placeholder unit and it's been doing fine outside of VRAM-limited scenarios. Very impressive card.
I wanted to point out the power draw too, 100W vs 140-170W and it seems like it's only in games where the 3060 is able to draw at the higher end of the power range that it pulls ahead slightly. I too have a 6600 running it at 1440p as a placeholder until I can get something better and with any game where upscaling is available it works very well. Some games can be a little troublesome, for example Palworld where you are forced to use desktop resolution if you want fullscreen on an AMD card (Palworld only has DLSS). I found an FSR mod for it that works okay and am getting average 90 fps at 1440p FSR Balanced medium/high settings. The RX6600 is a beast for its price and power draw.
Yes and you don't need to set to minimum, with combination of frame generation and dlss you can play all AAA games at high fps for at least next 5 yrs👍🏽
no, it won't last for that long and frame generation technology will help it a lot...8gb of ram is not bad, but it's not good for sure (yet still 4060 is more or less cheap, but I would go with 4060ti if I could) or would wait for 5000 series
Low consumption 1080p gaming for those of us living in backwards countries using wind and solar over nuclear despite not having natural disasters. Rounded off to dollars using my local used market prices: Super budget: $16-20 - Geforce 750 Ti (30-60W) Budget: $40-45 - GeForce 1050 Ti (50-75W) Mid: $120-150 - Radeon RX 6600 (90-130W) Top: $250 - GeForce 4060 (100-140W) Anything above is just throwing watts at a problem with little to no gains. If you're gaming at 4K none of this matters anyway and you're willing to pay a premium for fidelity and framerate anyway. Old games like vanilla World of Warcraft runs perfectly on a 750 Ti for instance, my entire system draws 40-60 watts ingame. For newer games I use Ryzen 5700X3D and Radeon 6600, the 4060 will have to drop in price before I trade up.
I did this 2 months ago, tried the rx 6600 with ryzen 5 2600 & I was heavily Cpu bound so I actually bought the ryzen 7 5700x3d yesterday, if you can upgrade go ahead but you will still have to upgrade your cpu eventually
@@MalXGAMING. honestly I have no complaints and it’s an amazing card, you might get better performance on certain games more then others, try and see comparisons online and see which one you would like to get but honestly I rather have a new RX6600 then used 3060 ti

That's weird, on my 6600 even launch version of Tsushima i never experienced crashing, does it happen on any other game as well? if it does it might be other thing in your system causing that, like unstable ram xmp profile, if it's only on this game, try different driver.
