    So relaxing watching a real skilled craftsman doing what he can with what he has . I'm sure there's many guys out there with the skills to make something similar using modern tooling and machines that would be stumped if handed their tools and told to make it . Got to respect these guys doing a days work in these conditions

    Using a chisel to notch the sheet metal? I never thought of doing that, very good idea, avoids that annoying twist at the point I get from tin snips. I learn something new everyday!

      This must be your 1st sheet metal video. It is done in all sheet metal videos. And they all seem to use the same exact length chisel with the squashed/mushroomed head.

      We had an excercise as an apprentice to cut metal with a chisel in a vice, very easy and effective.

      I was just conversing a few days ago that I believe a catastrophic event could put certain parts of the US society back to this point, a asteroid impact, electromagnetic attack, virus in the electrical or internet infrastructure. Only thing is I doubt our younger population could revert to this. Our society has become so disposable. What would we do if we didn’t have a Walmart or big box store to go buy a “new” something...

      I dont know if anyone caught onto this or if anyone else has said this, but its almost as if those people are 3 steps ahead all the time. While he was hammering the rivets he would flick the nut off the table with the piece of metal so smoothly you could barely see it happening.

    I love to watch these guys working without personal protection equipment (PPE) , no shoes ,no gloves ,no eye glass ,no helmet , even one guy used his hip to curve the sheet metal plate ,
    And no complaints, they do a good job and produce a good product by skillful hands , god bless them all

      Это точно. Буквально с языка фразу сняли...)) Для изготовления этой шестерни нужны несколько сложных станков.. а для местных поделок только молоток и зубило.

    Note that these dudes ARE NOT wearing gloves, safety glasses or safety boots. Some are barefoot. Tough guys who are skilled at what they do. I salute them for their skill, knowledge and energy.
