Hey, just wanted to say super thanks to Lance for giving back to the trading community with these videos. Lance is the only trading educator who has appreciably improved my performance. This tip, in particular, has been so helpful. I'm definitely one of those traders he has mentioned that went from meh/breakeven to profitable with the exponential bet sizing approach... I also totally respect Lance's not-for-profit work. I hope one day I can follow in his footsteps and totally give heaps away. Will definitely be giving money to the Impact Competition as a token of my gratitude!

OMG… this is gold. For the longest time I been wondering how to increase my account. I’m very consistent with high percentage gains but the growth has been dismal
I found that learning to scale properly is like support and resistance you try it fail go back to normal try it fail fall back you learn things experiencing scaling like better risk management, better position sizing, timing, patience, or when and where size should be added but you need to know full well what you are doing before increasing size because its the difference between huge wins and blown accounts
Noticing a few points. It takes time to confirm an A+ set up. Example given here is 4 months to go exponential on presumably a swing trade set up. Certainly by month 2 or month 3, I believe one should be playing with house money. Of course the one time I had this type A+ set up. I was not experienced enough to know this and left a lot of money on the table. That is the flip side and why FOMO needs to be eradicated mentally first.
I recommend doing a video on how to handle a Drawdown let's say after loosing 2-3 A+ setups I personally sometimes risk 5% of the acc on A+ setups Loosing 2-3 A+ Setups can affect the account

Interesting perspective. I for one would say all of my trades are "B+" or better setups. I used to think I should size down on the lesser setups, but after tracking my stats I find I would be most profitable to essentially go full size on every trade. So that is what I do. I ONLY take trades that are statistically in my favor, so I may as well go full size to maximize the profits. If you are taking setups that are not long-term profitable then why even take those trades at all? I use a very high reward to risk ratio so even on all the B+ setups i lose a lot....but my winners are always very big in comparison to losers. Drawdowns are not really significant unless i go 10+ losers in a row. All I need to be profitable is for one of every 6 or 7 trades to hit target. All I need to grow significantly is have 1 out of 4 trades hit full target. If I have a great week where 5 or 6 trades hit target it covers all of the losing trades i will have for sometimes weeks or months. I don't see the point of even taking trades if you are using tiny sizing. The only caveat is that "all in" for me is really 1/2 of all in because i want the ability to take two trades at a time and I often do. The only sizing difference I use is sometimes on a real a+ setup I will go double size on one trade..so truly all in with no buying power left.

I'm looking for someone that knows what they're doing to take a look at my statistics and my strat and give me a few pointers. This strategy is actually a great way to plan ones life as well. Measuring Risk vs Reward w/probability of Success but on an exponential level, can create great results!
Hello Lance and SMB. I've been trading for almost a year but only forex (still in demo). I am always afraid of betting more than 1% on a setup. Trades reversed so often on me that I'm not confident enough to increase bets. Do you have any tips?
The biggest problem for this strategy is that you have no idea the trade you are going to do is an A trade, a B trade, a C trade or a D trade.You may think it's an A trade and you put a lot of money on it, but it's a D trade and you lose a lot. The trade you think it might be a D trade truns out to be an A trade.
Is exponential bet sizing worth it with a single strategy that has around a 30% winrate and 1:5 R:R? If say I don't place trades that have anegative EV (the D grade trades), then why not risk the same on my C setups? They make money as well. I'm not saying risk the same on an A setuo as on a C. I'm saying risk the same on a C as on an A (or a B, idk). Wouldn't this make sense for someone with my strategy?
Variance and risk-to-ruin. If your C trades only have a win-rate of 50-60%, your likelihood of losing a series of 3-4 coin flips is too great to risk blowing your account with oversized bets
The information is almost useless when he won't tell us the % of account he is allocating to each trade category. How BIG is big? That really matters. And how does he enter... It's different to jump in full size all at once vs gradually adding more when it moves in your favor. He always uses the example of a 90% win rate setup with 1:4 R:R in his examples which seems unrealistic but ok. He might be getting saved by that high win rate while other guys will get crushed with this method on lower win rate setups, even if the R:R is better than the 90% setup.
How to grow your account fast.... For "experienced" traders? Experienced traders know how to grow their account... because, they have experience. Experienced traders don't have less than 25k account & certainly don't have less than 5-8k like the thumbnail shows. I've been trading over 2 years, blown up my account 4 times. Blowing up an account is an experience for sure but I wouldn't consider my self an experienced trader. Once I successfully reach over 25k & get to 50k or so then I think I could consider myself an experienced trader.
ABCD type of trades is avery vague way of describing a ver y condoluted thing that many traders struggle to clearly define. Is there a past video that you would direct to with regards to how traders should approach such classification. I understand everyone trades differently but with traders being inundated with so many indicators and other info, giving them an idea of what is practical and what is not in determining such classifciation could be helpful.

George, background is a video of the view from our office. If we filmed with the window behind lance it wouldn't look great. We use professional studio lighting with a green screen for best quality which then gets overlayed with the background. This is a standard thing for studios.

This shows the difference between listening and hearing. If you had been listening in all lance videos by now you should ve picked up alot of A + setup ideas and make them your own. We all want it so easy at our door steps , ve watched lance videos up to 30 times since July and all I can say is if only one can listen he can grab alot, but most importantly if only one can put in the work he will become alot 💚❤️

Semantics aside, the abcd premise is nuts. Trading requires an edge, and no matter what your particular edge is, every trade you take should be an ‘a’ trade. Period. If that trade is merely so-so, why the hell would you waste time or money on it? At the point you have found what you believe is an A trade, you scale in your allocation, whatever that amount is. Meaning you test the trade with maybe 20% of your $, then buy more as the trade proves successful. That way if it turns on you and triggers your trailing stop, you haven’t given back as much loss. By the time you have 100% of the allocation (which should never be more than 5% of your total account) in the trade, your trailing stop should be such that you break even (no loss) if it gets hit.

Lance is talking from a short term perspective but definitely can apply this to swing trades as well
