Hey man I subscribed and watched many of your videos, and your videos have helped me learn tig in my garage on a tight budget with my deko pro 200a tig machine that has no pedal just has a power switch on the torch

You missed one, I’m sick of people saying TIG is to slow.

Well, it is the slowest of the bunch.

I mean, it is sorta the slowest outta the 3 major processes. It's more sensitive to poor fitment, it's more sensitive to dirty metal and dirty materials, it's just all around a slower process but yields incredibly high quality work when done well. And that's not to say that you can just MIG right through greasy metal or poor fit up, but TIG does need more prep work where MIG can cheat that prep work to a small extent

Zero experience is shit. Can't say someone was taught, they practiced, then welded nice looking joints and had zero experience. What did their first bead look like? That would be zero experience.

Thank you for saying it is not "difficult ". It's a matter of passion and want to.

I had a buddy that had an interview at a welding shop that did a lot of machinery welding real high-end perfection high tolerance stuff he has never welded in his life I gave him a quick crash course on TIG welding his first weld was at the interview and he got the job and within probably 6 weeks he was a better welder than me who had at the time 10 years experience

I got a ArcCaptain AC/DC tig welder with foot pedal for about $640 during BF sale. Came with everything including blue tungsten. Got a used argon tank dirt cheap on craigslist. I'm starting on steel 1st before moving to AL or SS. Have dipped that tungsten more times that you can imagine, but slowly getting better. I did try out AL just make sure the welder worked and I was shocked at how loud the buzzing can be on AC depending on freq so I wore small foam ear plugs. I took the free on line class to get started. My dream would be getting a typhoon class Everlast but I would settle with the 210ext when they come out with the auto fan version they sell in Europe. But for now the ArcCaptain is good enough, it has an auto fan. I only practice about hour a day.

Great stuff! I have met some really great welders over the years, and the best ones where actually glad to help me learn. Now I offer my shop to a lot of people who would like to try welding before they have to spend any money.

What's your thoughts on using 2, 5 gal. Buckets for my first chiller? Gravity fed from up high to floor with just a ball valve. Thinking just antifreeze of some sort too?

So basically you’re saying you can get started on a budget you don’t need all this super expensive amazing stuff that makes it so much easier to weld. Also it doesn’t take long to get good at TIG welding.. if you watch my class on how to weld….

    Hey man
Unrelated to this video but I hope it helps others
I've been FIGHTING 1/4 aluminum for a month now unable to make anything acceptable. Until I realized my shop was too cold. My aluminum was too cold, and my machine couldn't make it happen. Heated the aluminum to 200° and it started melting perfectly! Not sure if you ever converted this topic, but I hope it helps

Thank you, Dusty. I love watching your Tig videos. They are very informative. I have the most trouble welding inside aluminum corner (fillet) joints.

Not sure if they have Harbor Freight up in Canada, but they have 2 different ac/dc tig machines that are under $1000. The Vulcan one is actually not a bad machine.

Good video brother. I bought a tig welder and I’m currently trying to figure it out. I think one of my problems is that I have it plugged into a 110v outlet and I believe it should be plugged into a 220v outlet?
