Great video! I really enjoy the way you teach. You mentioned "Ghost Notes" in this video. At 1:16, you begin playing a groove and ghost notes can certainly be heard. Unfortunately, your right hand was not in the video, so I was unable to see your right hand technique. I'm pretty sure you've covered the topic of ghost notes in another video. Would you by chance be able to provide a URL to a video where you discuss your ghost note technique? Thanks.
What's missing in this little tidbit is when the approach note works and doesn't work. For example, can you use the approach note for every note in the scale? Or does it only work on chord tone notes? When does a descending approach note work?
Hi and thanks for the comment. Using approach notes can depend on the musical style/genre, but my advice is to experiment with them in your playing and see what works for you. If you like the sound of what you've played then stick with it as you're discovering what makes you tick musically! Why not Post up some of your ideas as we'd love to hear how you're using approach notes!
