@@motorcycleadventures the battery seems to be 18650 type, which is not that hard to find (but not at the corner shop). You could have a spare battery with you.

@@motorcycleadventures i really like that you brought up that cable as a cons. On the first look it is trendy: wow, magnetic charger. But how many people will remove it by grabing the magnet part and not just pull the cable? And after lots of pulling the cable and magnet will break where they connect. And also the cins you said, just another part you have to take with you

I have the same torch, the Perun 2., it is a very good torch, bright and well made. The only negative I found was the proximity sensor is a bit over sensitive and regularly turns itself off

Hi Pavlin,
I bought my Olight Perun2 before Christmas last year in a deal with an Olight i5T EOS 1 x AA flashlight and it all was sent with free shipping.
You and may other reviewers say that you have to remove the clip to install/remove the Perun 2 from the head band. This is not so, you just have to think outside the box - yes I know the manual say that you must. I have a method that allows you to remove/install the head band without removing the clip.
It is easy to do but not so easy to describe. The method is to pinch the clip between your forefinger and thumb on the smooth area between the clip groove and the the headset strap groove at the top end of the light and lift the tail end of the clip up enough to install/remove the top loop of the head strap.
The Perun 2 has 6 modes of lighting, Moonlight, Low, Medium, High, Turbo and lastly SOS. When I got my light, the battery was almost dead. I tried to test it out but the light switched off after about 3 seconds. So I had to recharge the battery. The manual states that the battery takes about 3.5 hours to recharge from dead flat but using my Qualcom V3.0 USB 3.1 charger it took about 2.5 hours. The USB charge cable has 2 coloured LEDs; red while charging and green when done.

Good review! Does this proprietary magnet charger provide overcharging protection? I mean I need to 24hr stand charge it so I can use it anytime with zero worrying..

That magnet charger I've never seen one before on a flashlight if it broke and I was not near any town I wouldn't know where to get one I can get a USB charger cord at a gas station I don't even know where to get the magnet one other than online. I just bought two flashlights for $11 rechargeable with the straps there two different lights on them very bright lightweight easy to recharge and I can carry two of them.

Nice product. Considering to obtain one. Just small note to UV light... You can use it to detect oil or other leaks on your motorcycle or car...and be aware to use UV protective glases while operating with it🏍️

It is very well made and even that it is not advertised as waterproof I am sure that it will be okay on the rain.

I think that yes.
I have had a couple of Olight torches for the last four years The S1 Baton and the M1X Striker.
Both very bright, reliable, tough and waterproof, and can use ordinary CR123A batteries if needed.
The Olight Perun 2 looks good. Is it waterproof?

Grizzly'N Bear Overland had experience on deep sea rig with these and highly recommend for difficult environnent.
Unfortunately sport watches also have "rugged" USB connections too, but could probably "MacGyver" a connection.

Perun 2 uses a 21700
Olight use properietary battery that is special design for that magnetic charger.. the battery positive and negative terminal is on the same side at the top of the battery if you look properly at the battery. i have tried using normal 21700 samsung 40t on my m2r pro and perun2, and it wont work.. And that olight battery cost about $60 each which is really expensive compare to the normal lithium battery from sony and samsung which only cost $15-20.. olight really make a good long term business planning, because sooner or later the battery performance will drop and all the olight user will come back to them buying their expensive batteries.
Pavlin, this light is on my wishlist. So you have any link where I can buy it and support you in the same time?
(Please, keep your taught about not riding in the dark on long trips, but this is for that situation that isn't planned. 👍🏻 )

Me either. I have one from many years, but it cannot get even close in terms of light.
Nice light. I agree that having a "standard" USB charging socket/plug would be much better; likewise it is a pity the designers require removal of the clip for head-strap use. A 'dual color' flashlight (white & red) would be ideal for camping, as the Red preserves night vision.

I have the Warrior M2R Pro :D from Olight .......pretty much see everything at 160 meters :D.
You could ride all night with it on and if the fuse is busted and you don't have one spare, you're going to be very safe :D. (the MR2 one)
Pavlin, there are batteries like that that are used for construction tools.....you can buy other ones, but not that good as these ones (I have 2 and they lasted me for a week of travel or so or a week of fishing).
Perun 2 is a bit heavy, but the M2R is even heavier ..... They say you can see with it at 300 meters, I say that it's max 200m, but at 160 you make daylight.
But you need to mount it on the helmet or shoulder or bike with a custom mount (helmet and shoulder ar not sold, they have a firearm one).
It's a good light company, but a bit expesive.....

18650 lithium is the battery you can buy for 5 euros this battery it will last a minimum 4 years and used every day. I have similar nitecore and very happy for 4 years and not problem with the battery. So it will cost you a lot of money if you have a flash light with aa battery. This is one of the best Flash light in the world. Cheers

I can be clumsy and on two occasions I’ve broken flashlights by dropping and standing on them so I buy the cheapest I can find now for €2 with the intention of it lasting one or 2 trips

"Surefire", used by military and law enforcement around the world excels. I have two of the Maximus headlamps I have used for 8+ years and still use daily for fine detail work. Unlikely those will ever compare.

Its a 21700 battery. You'll never get the light output /run time with normal battery's. Completly agree with the charging cable, should have been generic like usb c.Good start on light reviews however there are a lot more better lights out there.
