I’m an old fogey, but it’s good to see youngsters like yourselves doing what you do . If I was younger some of the trips you do would definitely be on my to do list. But have to go easy these days . Keep safe and maybe see you on the road someday .
That is just lovely. EcoFlow may be a bit pricey compared to building your own but you get no compatibility issues. Everything's very easy to install and it's pretty scalable as well. For added power you can get the Smart Generator so you can run that aircon all the live long day if you want. All in all this is a great build. Two thumbs up!
Hi ..currently doing the Shed refurb for My Son at Tallie Valley. Been a major project but rewarding as well. Hope to have completed Mid March..also looking to rent it out to help with rising Interest Rates. Your posts have given us a few hints on the way…We live watching your family’s Adventures.
Place looks fantastic now. Just for your info I sell Air-conditioning for a living and Mitsubishi HI is one I sell the most with confidence. Great units. Looking forward to the next video.👍
Thanks guys for sharing video on the shed . Its come up really well with all the hard work .Whats the conduit for going up there palm tree ?? Looking forward to upcoming videos on the road. 👍👍🍻🍻
Hi Justin, 14 is to low to set air con on hot humid days, try set on 26. House or shed will never drop to 14, compressor will never stop working. (26 with no humidity is comfortable, less power.)
At 2.2 kWe, the aircon is pulling out a lot of energy from the batteries... Not sure what your current ah storage is...my question is: do you run the aircon directly off solar in, via the batteries; but not at night or in cloudy weather when you would quickly run down the batteries?
Well done Justin, Sheddy is looking great - should be on Grand Designs next season :). Where do you hide Bec and kids while you are doing the shed updates ?
Hi Justin, love your shed and your channel, have been looking at the Ecoflow Power Kit system for our van, how noisy are the fans? And what size would you recommend? Thank you
Hay are you guys doing full lease rentals or just like air bnb with the shed house I love the shed house when you going to show us the beach house too 😀
Hi Jason don't know if this applies with these types of batteries but i was taught that normal batteries should never be placed on a concrete floor great setup
Great episode thank you - question - can you let us know from your sparky mate - if we were to pay a sparky to do what he did - approx how much would it cost ?? Thanks
I didn’t tell ya’s to disconnect battery before taking the wheel off. That’s a safety issue. I don’t want anyone to get hurt doing something I do. So I removed it, I will re edit and publish again later
If you orient your panel to true north you will get most power. A bit North East for morning sun/charge or North West for afternoon sun/charge. Believe it or not, the best angle for solar panels is different depending on where you live. Naturally, you always want your panels on the side of the roof that gets the most daytime sun. However, the actual angle you should aim for changes from state to state. This is because the ideal angle is always equal to the latitude angle of your home’s location. As a rough guide, the optimal angles for solar panels are listed below for Australia’s capital cities. Sydney - 33.9 degrees Melbourne - 37.8 degrees Perth - 31.9 degrees Brisbane - 27.5 degrees Hobart - 42.9 degrees Adelaide - 34.9 degrees Darwin - 12.5 degreesk
Looks great...We are not too far from you,we have 2.5kw on roof and charges 5kwh battery before lunch....we have 750w aircon and can run during the day but will not last long over night on the battery...good plan on the aircon...particularly this week.
Hi Justin and Bec, do you need a build permit for shed house for living? I live in WA. Build permit for shed house for living is very much the same build normal house.
Love the plug n play simplicity of the ecoflow kits . . . Still leaves me stuck on finding a complete video with absolutely 'every step' recorded to follow ( Were in a caravan now instead of a tent and we have 2 months to get it done to hit the road , everytime i go to buy @ecoflow we hit a brick wall at exactly what we need :/
Good little set up.. I believe you said 400w max solar which won't be enough to run the AC unit..if it was 4kw solar and 15kw batter then a good chance you could run it all through the night. Give this video a watch of a caravan battery set up to be off grid and run the AC all night long. ua-cam.com/video/D7CfBd8jXVs/v-deo.html
Perfect set up for Power and Lovely Shed, We like it.
Cheers

What cost did that size system set you back
22K with the pre-sale.

That is awesome! Definitely a rewarding experience. A lot of work goes into it

The a/c doesn’t go that low hey. We generally have on 22 and it’s awesome
Good old certificate 2 fridgie 🙄 stick to pulling cable mate
Is that back door near the kitchen has got a gap at the top is that ok meaning do bugs get in the shed via there
Yeah there’s a small gap. I’ve actually got a seal to fit to that gap hey👍👍
Very informational video. Living in that shed must be an absolute joy. What's the max capacity and output that you can get off that kind of system?
Up to 15kw of capacity and 3600watts output

Love this from a shed to a shedy home well done both of you 😘
Thanks so much! 😊
Well done Justin, Sheddy is looking great - should be on Grand Designs next season :). Where do you hide Bec and kids while you are doing the shed updates ?
Got the kids doing school at the moment 👍
Does this battery/ solar setup australian standards because the solar has to but what about the inverter and batteries?
Hi Justin, love your shed and your channel, have been looking at the Ecoflow Power Kit system for our van, how noisy are the fans? And what size would you recommend? Thank you
Yes they are noisy, I’d stick with my Enerdrive setup for caravans
Hay are you guys doing full lease rentals or just like air bnb with the shed house I love the shed house when you going to show us the beach house too 😀
Beachy will stay pretty private I reckon. We are just going short term private rentals at Sheddy👍
Hi Jason don't know if this applies with these types of batteries but i was taught that normal batteries should never be placed on a concrete floor great setup
Fake news
Great episode thank you - question - can you let us know from your sparky mate - if we were to pay a sparky to do what he did - approx how much would it cost ?? Thanks
I paid him cash $300 to run the conduit and fit the change over switch and plug
Love your outfit!!!!
Did I miss how much that baseline set up is?
This setup with no solar is 11k
@@TripInAVan legend thanks
I'd rent that place in a heartbeat if I wasn't 7900 hundred miles away😏.
I’ll take a guess, are you in USA?
@@TripInAVan Yep. Back in Oz Feb next year. YAY
You need plenty more panels to run all that gear.
For sure. At least 2.5kw
👍
Loved this ep guy’s!!!! Would love to build an off grid place myself. Just wondering what the cost of the off grid kit was???
The kit we have without solar is around 11k
What happened to the steering wheel replacement?
I didn’t tell ya’s to disconnect battery before taking the wheel off. That’s a safety issue. I don’t want anyone to get hurt doing something I do. So I removed it, I will re edit and publish again later
Justin can you tell me how much the whole lot of solar batteries and inverter cost every you need to make the package
Bout 12k for the package I installed. I still need to upgrade my solar and another battery though… so another 6k I reckon
NEED MORE PANELS!!!
Hey guys love your work also is the shed a class1a? Cheers

@@TripInAVan Much thanks for the info, it helped me. I just was not sure either it was Go pro or iPhone 14. Great video as always.
Great vid mate. Does the ecoflow have units that run a normal household?
Only up to 15kw systems as far as I know
Looks great...We are not too far from you,we have 2.5kw on roof and charges 5kwh battery before lunch....we have 750w aircon and can run during the day but will not last long over night on the battery...good plan on the aircon...particularly this week.
Thanks mate. What panels and how many do you have to make up the 2.5kw array? That’s my next job
How much did this shed project cost approximately up until now? Would love to have something similar, Future dreams
Bout 60-70
Can you run this in your caravan?
We are off grid and love it too. Where is the house located? Looks local-ish to us
Keeping location private for now 👌
Totally understand 👌🏼
What size is the shed.
6x9
Hi Justin and Bec, do you need a build permit for shed house for living?
I live in WA. Build permit for shed house for living is very much the same build normal house.
How much did it cost to build start to finish
The shed Reno cost bout 60k
EcoFlow 5kWh Power Kits, Regular price, $10,397.00
Hot water heater ?
What plat form do we find shedy to rent?
Nah we just doing it privately.
Ok thanks. So is it as simple as emailing you guys
Looks good! Fantastic channel. Are you putting anything under the battery to protect from the cold?
They have their own battery heating inside so I don’t think I’ll need it. Plus it never gets below 10 degrees here really
