Hands down best DIY for these yet
Well done bro. I thought before both rotors and calipers needed to be from the '04 STI. Actually only the rotos gotta be 5x100.
You might want to break the brake line bolt before removing the old caliper. Then screw it back in. This makes it easier to remove the bolt after the caliper hangs loose
Excellent video! I have an '04 WRX now but also owned an '09 STi with Brembo brakes before, and can see how the Brembo's are more convenient for track/Autocross day brake pad changes.
Came in clutch as i am doing the same. Noticed you are using Rotas I have Grid R will they clear or do I need a 5mm spacer?
Good radio station in the background!
EXCELLENT VIDEO! DO YOU HAVE ANY FOR VW TOUAREG V6 TDI 2012
few Q's -
exact same process for the 08-14, right?
are the new bolts required for installing the Brembo's?
will this fit directly on 2013 wrx?
Hey great vid, just bought a set of brembos for my 03 wrx which i will be fitting very soon once i've refurbed them .... ;)
+Mick Brown Nice!
will you be using wheel spacers? just bought a new set of brembos myself and I fear they won't fit behind by xxr's
+Branden Seymour That will depend on the offset of your wheels. Otherwise, do a test fit before the actual swap.
ever heard of a torque value mr. impact?
Awesome video bro, but how do you bleed the brake line out?
nice tutorial no shitchat and awful music thanks
how is the driving with those on? is there any pad knockback ?
Thanks man!! Very helpful vid man!!
you could also use jdm or edm sti brembos from 2002-03
yes! always thought you had to swap out spindle.
Keep up the good work!!
With a new rotor you should have buffed the hub free of rust so it sits flush
+jpnitty You are correct. I did end up doing that, just didn't show it in the video.
+Boosted Films - good man I shouldn't have doubted you
helpfull video ¡¡¡¡ I had a question there is a specific Brembo Caliper Part number or model for 2002 STI Please I wanna buy one
I wish you would have done a video for the REAR BREMBO SWAP...
Send me some rear Brembo's and I will :)
Hey mate, I have enkei gtc01 rims which are 17inch and i am getting brembo brakes and my concern is the fitting, can you tell me the width and offset of yours rims?
Question... I have a subaru impreza 06 outback 2.5 I'm looking to install something like this what year would fit on my car
You only done the front Sti brembos swap? If so, you bleed all 4 wheels?
yes
i have an 02 wrx and looking to upgrade my break system but brembo is very costly do you have another option besides brambo brand. if i do get the Brambo break what size rotor do i need for perfect fit?
You can do the 06-07 WRX 4 pot 2 pot brakes.
If you do the Brembo's 04' STi Rotors.
Thanks for getting back i really appreciate it.
Subaru 4 pot are cheap eBay it all Subaru in Australia had 4 pot like the gda gdb
not to bash on you. but shouldn't the bleeder be facing down? correct me if I'm wrong.
Bleeders should face up. That way you can get all the air out of the system
Also u can get spacers for the wheels of they don't fit and where did u get your rotors resurfaced At?
You are correct. I prefer not to run spacers, but they are an option. Rotors were resurfaced at a small shop in WI.
Which is the disc diameter in mm and the rim diameter?
could fit an 16" rim whit that caliper?
thank you!
my brembo piston seals are Not square cut any more does this mean they need replacing??????
I got a noob question is the WRX and sti on both 04 the same size rotors
Anonymous Anonymous no. Sti rotors are bigger than base model wrx rotors.
Boosted Films thanks
With this work on a 1997 Subaru impreza outback sport wagon?
Do you need to bleed the brakes first or at the end of the swap?
Bleeding the brakes in the process of removing air from the brake lines. You would want to do it after installing the new calipers. (Or anytime after you introduce air to the brake line system)
what size of wheels are you using?
just wondering if the oem bugeye 17" wheels will clear the brembo update
Marc 1975 stock bugeye wheels will not clear brembos. Get 04 oem sti wheels.
@@BoostedFilms thanks you for your quick reply, nice tutorial video
Will this work on the Subaru baja?
Is the rear the same? Is there anything different with the whole handbrake assembly? Can the stock hubs/knuckles be used to swap to sti rotors in the rear?
You need additional mounting hardware for the rear calipers and you need the sti rotors. Stock hubs will work as long as your sti parts are coming from an 04.
Boosted Films What is the additional hardware? I have brembo calipers for all 4 corners from an 04 sti and I want to put them on my 04 wrx wagon.

Where's the factory fitted 4 pots? Your model only had two.
+Cannon.troll 1 are you in the US? The calipers I took off were factory.
wrx 4 pots came on 06-07 wrx (I think)
Will these brakes fit on a legacy b4 2004 ?
And are u gonna run proving grounds with your wrx next year?
Probably not. When I film an event, I usually don't have time to participate.
Does it HAVE to be a sti rotor? Or just any 5x100 rotor?
If you want to run Brembo's, it has to be STI 5x100 rotors.
are the 06-07 wrx has same rotors as the sti? since they also has 4 ports front caliber and 2 ports rear caliber
+satawat senyotkham No. Only the Brembo sti calipers would be the same.
What size rim will fit that
Nice cheaper bar bro
watch the clearance on the caliper to wheel lol haha
5x100 or 114?
Ezequiel Rodrigo Everything is 5x100. But Brembo calipers from 04-07 don't care what your bolt pattern is.
what's the name of the gun he's using to loosen the bolts?
Impact gun air powered
will 06 sti brembo calipers work on 5x100 hubs??
knuckles are different
What about Subaru Impreza 2.0 R 2007? T_T
What about the rear would it be the same ?
No. you need different mounting brackets for the rear.
Boosted Films how much are those brackets
Thks
oh snap I didn't know NAPA sold air guns
you forget to mention that de back plate have to be swap to for a bigger one, or at least modify to accomodate de new bid disck! :o)
wow. rust. I forgot what that looks like living in california for so long.
I want to rent the lift.
