- This documentary introduces us to Stephen Jenkinson, once the leader of a palliative care counselling team at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital. Through his daytime job, he has been at the deathbed of well over 1,000 people. What he sees over and over, he says, is "a wretched anxiety and an existential terror" even when there is no pain.
Indicting the practice of palliative care itself, he has made it his life's mission to change the way we die - to turn the act of dying from denial and resistance into an essential part of life.
Directed by Tim Wilson - 2008 | 61 min

Stephen became a part of my life after the death of three who I cared about deeply. I did not understand the grief I felt and suddenly there he was on UA-cam with a title about Death Phobia. His book "Die Wise" is my life Bible. His words hold the deepest truths about life-and-death and should be savored and tasted over-and-over until they fill that hole. I've been waiting to view this program and loved even the most heart breaking moments. Share this far and wide. My greatest sadness is not acknowledging that my Father was dying and missing an opportunity to tell him how much I loved him. DO NOT avoid those discussions about death--NOW.
Wow. Beautiful.
