Let’s say, we are running a business. And we have a certain conversation with our colleagues or with our business companions or with our bosses. And we are discussing several issues. “Issues” means problems, some cases and stuff like that. Maybe some projects. And, for example, the person who is responsible for making decisions in our company tells me: “I want you to put this issue on the front burner.” This is the way it goes (shows the note-card). Front burner. So, as I told you in Russian, burner is a small round thing we can see on top of a gas range. So it’s a mall round thing fire comes out of. So when we want to warm something up, to boil, to fry something, we put it on a burner, and normally a gas range has several burners. Some of them are in front of a gas range and some of them are in the back of a gas range. So when a person that is responsible for making decisions tells me: “I want you to put this issue on the front burner.” It means that I have to give priority to this issue. It means that I have to solve this issue in the first place. And, on contrary, when something can wait, when something isn’t that important for us, we can say: “We can put it on the back burner.” So, for example, again the person who makes decisions can tell me: “We can put this issue on the back burner. It’s not that important for us.” This issue is very important for us! I want you to put it on the front burner! But that issue isn’t that important for us. We can put it on the back burner.
