The inserts are actually pantac brand but any velcro mounted inserts would work. I had velcro added to the inside of the fabric/webbing inserts provided with the chest rig. The only downside is that there’s a bunch of fabric stacked in there from all the velcro but so far it’s worked well.
I have the same rig. I love it but don’t like the mag insert that come with the rig. I like your solution. Could you share some photos of the inserts themselves

Great vid. How do you utilize the flat pack, as I’ve noticed with mine, there is a lot of length left over. Do you tighten the straps all the way, or recommend something else?
Those are actually Pantac brand from back in the day. They are molded plastic with retention similar to kydex. I've got another chest rig that I plan on either swapping one side of the velcro on so it will mate with current inserts.

Thank you! Yes I have the straps tightened all the way when it's attached directly to the chest rig.
Dude, do you still have it? It's that I have a question. The question is what are the measurements without the straps on and with the zipper closed?
The chest rig is 24" wide with both panels zipped together and 6.5" tall. The larger pouches on the outside hang 1.5" below the rest of the rig.

Would a G.I. 1 qt canteen fit in one of the large gp pouches?
No but a nalgene will. It also fits single tube nods well if that's of interest to you.
