If we were making this film today it would look very different and we’ve since made a commitment to ensuring our films reflect the diversity of our community.

@Susan Anderson wonderful work, its a great thing to have security of a home base that you can *build on* with changing how things are done. Those who don't have security, who are in the private rental market need a helping hand from the rest of us... such as rezoning regulations successfully used in Portland Oregon to create affordable, sustainable housing *in places where housing already exists*. Community led conversion of poorly functioning estates into high functioning social and garden-productive areas in their localities. THAT i find very inspiring. Because it won't be until *everyone* can access what is currently only available to the settled, and relatively affluent portion of our society - that things will really change. I like the Portland model of transformative local government, responsive to their communities call for doiing things a little differently to achieve a hugely changed and incredibly positive outcome for residents.
Susan, great work. You are one person plus…..the change must come from the people because the evil and greedy who benefit from the current system aren’t going to fix anything. The power structures today are built on money and oil. The people together can topple the system.
'Do what the soft animal of our body loves!' I'm grateful to live in Oregon's green Willamette Valley, be able to garden and have access to a year round farmers Market. This year I moved to my a little house at my daughter's, and have begun new gardens. I also tend a raised bed tea garden, (square, about a meter across) as part of a 28 bed 'Edible Landscaping' project - in spring we give away over 3000 plant starts and in fall produce ... town residents can stroll the street and pick what's ripe. The project is a subset of Zeros Waste, which was begun by a fellow whose family heritage farm was next to the town dump. After returning to our community, he worked to find more sustainable solutions for Reducing, Reusing Recycling and composting.
There is also no such place as "away". People "throw things away" and imagine those things no longer exist, but they do, and that has become a big problem!
There are certainly animals and plants that have excess production/resource use that dominates and alters the local environment. So perhaps calling the remnants of our excess production waste is what the actual human concept is, and not necessarily creating the excess.

This is all bullshit and people in the developing world would be hurt the most if these idiots had control of policy. these people are radicals, alarmists, and they’re also communists. if they actually told you what they believe and their policies Third World countries and poor and disadvantage people in other places around the world such as America Europe etc. are the ones that are gonna be hurt the most! Their policies will destroy capitalism and only a handful of elites would be left benefiting. These people are nut jobs! But they do a great job making it sound like they know what they’re talking about. No they don’t. They’re bullshitting you with empathy and emotions and feelings rather than facts and data and science.

Extra ordinary wisdom on how to live a simple but happy way of life. I agree wholeheartedly that we should love ourselves and also love and take care of the planet. Thank you. Very inspiring... May the light , love for mother Earth and common sense of what is shown in your video multiply accross the world of today.... 2022. - I will certainly spread it.
I believe excess consumerism has a huge impact on climate change. Recycle and re-use of ALL material should be of upmost importance. Too many people purchase disposable items or uneccessary items that end up in landfill. Many want the latest or biggest item on the market whilst their used article is still functional and/or useful for example analog tv for a big screen Smart tv.
That's why we started our CSA market farm and do no till reganative agriculture to promote soil health. Our soil is so important and people don't understand that. We have alot of work ahead of us all. Our society today has been programmed to think everything has to be perfect.
This was wonderfully made! Thank you, I feel at home with many of the people who appeared in this documentary. Working on getting myself completely self-efficient!
Thank you so much for educating the world about living for change and this is actually living, not relying on every material thing that money can buy. It's a holistic way of living.
Thank you both for doing your part to bring to light the change we as humans so desperately need. Your videos are all so wonderfully done and incredibly inspirational! Cheers to you! It's comforting to view other like minded people from all parts of the planet recognizing the breakdown in our societies, and seeking change. We are all in it together, one heart/mind at a time.
Thank you so much for making this film Free! I enjoyed watching it and have been trying to become more self-sufficient, and being more nature minded. It is everyone's duty to take care of this planet, and our own little space that we habitate. This film has given me more ideas on what I can do to improve my own life of lowering my footprint.

For myself, this timely reminder is fuelling a much needed healing boost, to fertilize both my vitality and my heart, as I return to developing organisations for inspired and conscious living amongst our coming generations of leaders. Blessings to All, Lillian
LOL! Oh my God you and almost everyone else commenting on this documentary are totally brainwashed! This is not authentic. This is communist authoritarian propaganda. This is not about progress. It’s about an assault on capitalism and democracy. It’s just being produced in a very polite and civil way.
@@nedhill1242 What perfect timing that you targeted me with your belittling projections! It is always delightful to observe the next up and coming descending ones. May you be blessed with vast and deep, experiential understandings of all you judge. 💜 You called it forth and it is now at your door. “Hang on. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.” 😉 In heart, Lillian
@@LillyD.R. I’m not belittling you. I’m pointing out that you are brainwashed I don’t know propaganda when you see it. This is part of what they do the couch it in this wonderful sounding package but it’s clearly an attack on everything that has made the world good. Everything that has healed and educated and clothed and fed and created a higher standard of living and a longer life expectancy and everything else good that has happened over the last 200 years. It is thanks to capitalism and democracy. This is a direct assault on that. I’m not belittling you at all. I actually feel sad for people like you. I feel sad for the masses that are brainwashed by the Democrats and the main stream media. Because that’s what you are brainwashed. And I can give you the name of lots of high profile progressives that used to be brainwashed but now they have seen the light. People like Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald, John McWhorter, Brett Weinstein, Jimmy Dore, all people that you can see on UA-cam that are some of the top black and progressive academics and thought leaders in America. So I don’t listen to me go listen to people from your side that are saying wake up you’re being brainwashed. The people in that video care more about the planet than they care about people. And I would love to sit down and watch that video with you and tell you how in every segment they lie and say things that it is factually untrue. For example the woman that talked about Preakness oil. She said if usage is stable and doesn’t go up exponentially you never reach peak oil. That’s just not true. If I have a bottle of liquor and I’m an alcoholic. And you have the same size bottle of liquor but you’re not an alcoholic. And you drank one glass of liquor every day but I drank five glasses of liquor every day. We’re both going to use and drink all of the liquor. I’m just gonna do it faster. She didn’t understand peak oil at all. So you’re being lied to. You’re being manipulated. But you don’t realize it. You don’t realize it because they do it in such a loving and gentle and kind way.
@@LillyD.R. I’m actually in the process of buying land and starting an off the grid self-sufficient Homestead that will also be an organic small farm selling produce and meat to the local community. I’m going to have a few families that don’t have the money but the skills and desire to live that type of lifestyle come and live on the land and help. I’m doing something about the problem. What are you doing? I’m taking my life and my future into my own hands not leaving it in the hands of incompetent greedy power-hungry manipulative lying authoritarian politicians. The politicians you vote for! You know why they aren’t more small farms do you know why there aren’t a lot of sustainable family farms the way they were 50 and 100 years ago? Big government. Government regulations. Regulations enacted by the people you people who in an on about this video voted into office. People to think the average person is too stupid to take care of themselves and they must be protected. The elites the oligarchs. They are the ones ruining the planet and ruining democracy and capitalism. Why do you think red states do so much better than blue states? Why do you think California, which 30 years ago was one of the greatest places in the world to live, is now a total disaster? Why do you think so many people are leaving New Jersey and New York and moving south? To get away from the bullshit. To get away from the people that are ruining everything for their own power. I’ve been around farming and agriculture my entire life. It’s people that live in big cities that are destroying the environment. It’s killing the small farms in the small ranchers and creating big ag corporate agriculture because of greedy corrupt politicians and crony capitalism. You need to go watch some videos on UA-cam of Michael Shellenberger and Bjorn Lomborg and Joel Salatin. Go educate yourself!

Thank you for sharing this _/\_ Some of the parallels are in the book called “WILD KINSHIP: Biophilia, Inner Knowings and Our True Nature” The book talks about many of the things we don’t even talk about, for instance how our own biology is rebelling against this “unnatural” way of living. And the strength we have when we align ourselves with who we truly are as human animals.
Wow the quality of this doco is top notch and so glad to see the issues of sustainability discussed in a realistic and honest way. Would be great to get something like this aired on TVNZ to expose a wider audience to these ideas!
Oh my heart ❤️❤️❤️ this is such a wonderful film! I watched it immediately after the OCC's "radical hope" video and together i feel like they have woven a kind of protective cushion of hope around my heart, especially after such a heavy day. I'm sharing widely!!
Absolutely beautiful documentary, best one I've seen in a long time, I hope you'll win an award for this! Seeing stuff like this energises me to not only live sustainably but to also have a profound impact on the World around me. Can't wait to plant some trees tomorrow, I'm so pumped for this!
adding some nuance to my farmer remark: some farmers and graziers do in fact ''think outside the box'' and have been experimenting with different ways of doing things for quite some time. To do this, they stop taking the agriculture departments sometimes predictable advice and do it their own way, with one eye to how nature's cycles work, how their land responds to floods, drought and fire (for instance)
@Yingle I accidentally deleted my first response which was: yes, lets plant trees! But...be sure to plant the trees that do well in the area or locale that you intend planting in. Before planting, ask some experienced locals what they recommend (gardeners, I mean). Senior gardeners, the ones with a rich and varied garden - are the best knowledge holders of all. They are delighted to share what they know with newbies. Soil type and climate are pivotal to the success of tree planting. Also, your trees should be ones that support local bird and insect life that is already in place, so they have an expanded food source. Birds and insects are pollinators too, sometimes we forget this.
I am creating a home, avoiding landfills, and used wood, and furniture, and terrace community gardening, and health retreats for stress, to incuclcate lifestyle habits, and set up bee homes and bird houses.

Remember, when God created humans, it was in the garden of Eden, and God gave them a duty to cultivate the land, that is why it feels good to work in the farm and the garden and in nature. That is the life that we are intended to, we have to work with our own hands that gives us satisfaction. There is nothing wrong about sewing, farming, cooking, etc. It's so nice to see you happy, emotional happy and healthy and satisfied.

¡Gracias!
I've watched the videos that you have previously presented with the families & individuals who have made & are making a positive change.
This video should be watched by everyone on the planet, especially the big companies that are ravaging our earth for their monetary gain & power.
Great work, thank you!
Well done! Now let’s all begin. How may I serve my community in some small way each day. What can I grow and share with others🌻
I enjoyed seeing all these different projects and the comment in the end "trust what feels good to you and trust what feels aligned who you really are". Thank you for all the input in making the film and for sharing it here.
So many good souls and positive vibes gathered together here! ❤️
I'm amazed by this wonderful film and the lifestyle I always wants to . Thank you very much. ❤
Extra ordinary wisdom on how to live a simple but happy way of life. I agree wholeheartedly that we should love ourselves and also love and take care of the planet. Use only what you can consume and leave the rest breathing, growing, living in the ground. There will be less waste and a better and healthier future for us.
Beautiful video with inspiring stories by real people practicing sustainable activities in New Zealand.
what a wonderful documentary, truly blown away! I got very emotional, because of feeling trapped like many of us, but I know one day I will break free and connect to my roots again, back into Mother nature arms!
I wish everyone on this planet think like these like-minded people in this film just beautiful🥰. I just started my garden wish I had the money to move to the country that's what my heart yearns for
Good job. Keep it up. Thanks!
Amazing film. Thank you!
What you both are putting out there is so very crucial in our world right now.
Time for change.
Beautiful and inspiring.
Well done.
💯✔️ 🌱🍃☘️🌲🌳🌵🌴🔥🌡️thank you from Alaska many home grown farms are around me. Alaskans are trying soooo hard to improve our eco system for more farms. I support buying produce from organic and smaller farms
I am a never Amazoner. I do not buy outside my local
It's amazing and gives me a wee bit of peace of mind
Thanks! What you are doing is heroic. I've learned a lot from this channel. Thank you!
Thank you!
I'm deeply grateful for this documentary! My heart is full and open from the resonance and recognition of the real truth and beauty! Thank you and piles of love from Estonia!
Couldn't be more important, or better said! Hopefully it will soon be internationally spread!
This documentary is food for the soul. There is still hope. This is inspiration for my future actions. Thank you from Italy
Thank you for telling the stories of all those people, allowing us a taste in the richness of their impact. I am grateful for your contribution to our world 🌎 ❤
Well this is just BEAUTIFUL! I live in a flat but I have a allotment … and I’m never happier than when I’m there with my fingers in the dirt.
I’d prefer a bucket of chicken shit over a gift of jewelry any time 💕💕💕
It’s invigorating to learn that, one, you’re not alone in your passion for healthy food systems And that there’s an entire community living the change that our society is in such desperate need today.
I love how the word 'inter-being' captures the dynamic essence of who we are-truly we are not just a part of Nature, we ARE Nature. Thank you for this wonderful documentary that deeply resonates at so many levels!
this documentary is absolutely amazing. im currently living in east africa trying to make a change. raising funds for community challenges isnt easy, but dollar by dollar we'll get there. thanks for this guys, a truly inspiring film.
Thank you. Very inspiring... May the light , love for mother Earth and common sense of what is shown in your video multiply accross the world of today.... 2022. - I will certainly spread it.
Very excellent!!! Thank you! I crave to steward more land and regenerate with food forests
Thank you so much for educating the
world about living for change and this is actually living, not relying on every material thing that money can buy. It's a holistic way of living.
Thank you for putting all of this knowledge and inspiration together and sharing it 🙏🏽💚
Thank you both for doing your part to bring to light the change we as humans so desperately need. Your videos are all so wonderfully done and incredibly inspirational! Cheers to you! It's comforting to view other like minded people from all parts of the planet recognizing the breakdown in our societies, and seeking change. We are all in it together, one heart/mind at a time.
Without God the coming together of like minded people can create a hell on earth. The breakdown of society today is an example of this.
What a beautiful and insipring Film, Thank you so much for posting it for free. Amazing work.
Beautiful! Inspiring! Well done! A deep bow!
Very inspiring. Thank you for truly setting a wonderful example of saving our planet.
So emotional and inspiring.... 💛 thank you, keep on sharing your work, it really makes the world change 💚
I love you people.
Thank you for sharing this with us all. Happy anniversary to your company!!!
Inspiring in the face of the mess we are in around the world. Keeps us keeping on.💚🌱💚🌱💚
Thank you for your amazing videos! You guys are making a huge positive impact! Thank you very much!!!
Very inspiring movie, much needed. Thanks a lot.
This is such a powerfully authentic and realistic documentary. Thank you, every participant, for offering such a gem to the world’s individuals and communities.
For myself, this timely reminder is fuelling a much needed healing boost, to fertilize both my vitality and my heart, as I return to developing organisations for inspired and conscious living amongst our coming generations of leaders.
Blessings to All,
Lillian
You called it forth and it is now at your door.
“Hang on. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.” 😉
In heart,
Lillian
@@nedhill1242 Good luck on your coming journey. 😌
I feel confident you will find your way through.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is beauty and truth and the only way to move foreward to sustain life on Earth
Thank you for nourishing me with a sense of hope inspiration and community
@Linda Kinda you might also like to check out Small is Beautiful, by EF Schumacher. This classic book is one of the early signposts for those of us who were starting out in life in the seventies and eighties. Basically, very similar message to this video series.

Thank you for sharing this _/\_
Some of the parallels are in the book called “WILD KINSHIP: Biophilia, Inner Knowings and Our True Nature”
The book talks about many of the things we don’t even talk about, for instance how our own biology is rebelling against this “unnatural” way of living. And the strength we have when we align ourselves with who we truly are as human animals.
Who is it by? I can't find it. Thanks 😊
Thanks without end 🙏❤️
Thank you for doing this work and sharing this with the world. ☺️
Wow the quality of this doco is top notch and so glad to see the issues of sustainability discussed in a realistic and honest way. Would be great to get something like this aired on TVNZ to expose a wider audience to these ideas!
Thanks Josh :)
Oh my heart ❤️❤️❤️ this is such a wonderful film! I watched it immediately after the OCC's "radical hope" video and together i feel like they have woven a kind of protective cushion of hope around my heart, especially after such a heavy day. I'm sharing widely!!
That's lovely to hear, thank you!
15:16 - There it is. We already have what we need - just need to use it!
@@pipfox7834 I plant natives that do well in the area. I'm well aware of the diversity that an eco system needs, thanks.
Thanks
Thank you for another fantastic and inspiring documentary. 🥰
Beautiful informative …… now to start !
You guys are making a positive difference! Blessings! 😊
May all live in Abundance!
I've been watching this film in parts. And I'm so excited to see the positive act's. 🙌
I am creating a home, avoiding landfills, and used wood, and furniture, and terrace community gardening, and health retreats for stress, to incuclcate lifestyle habits, and set up bee homes and bird houses.
Kia ora my friends, love your work, just finished watching and sharing Living the Change. To me your films are very powerful and connect, it's amazing to know there are so many awesome kiwis out there living the change - but we still need a lot more of them! Have donated towards your Gravity Fishing project, look forwards to watching it too! Hope to run into you one day, I'm a Tasman resident as well. Take care xo
Thanks so much, Giles! Really appreciate the support of our upcoming project, and glad to hear you enjoyed Living the Change. Cool that you're a local! We feel really lucky to have moved to such a beautiful region. Thanks again :)
Fantastic! Informative, entertaining, great filming and editing and some lovely familiar faces too.
Thank you so much Jordan and Antoinette.
Hooray! Happy birthday to Happen Films! Your work is very much appreciated by me.
Wow, this is hugely inspirational! Can’t wait to share it with as many people as I can🙌🙌🙌🙌👌😍😍😍👌
