Always liked the looks of it but reliability and quality issues never gave me confidence

This looks like a great package... For 60k... At 91k after on-roads, I don't know how they think they can justify it. The BOM, logistics and manufacturing is LESS THAN HALF the cost of the vehicle. It's really worth no more than 55k (in base form) as-is and it's insane to me that they are trying to sell it here for as much and over 100k after on-roads. They are essentially selling the car two or three markets up from a Jimny, when it realistically belongs just one segment up.

That is why their sales are tanking globally

It'd be on the table if it was around $50k+ Onroads. I think A wrangler with an $80k Starting price is a bit out of touch, especially considering build quality and reliability.

We like these cars who can go everywhere, just like the Defender. But if you don't want to have a problem in the middle of nowhere, take a Toyota. Reliability is the key.

That 2l needs minimum 95 RON. Thats a big downside if you like going remote. Also the gearing is so low on the rubi that an extra 50nm of torque means near nothing in the bush. Never been in a spot wishing for more torque with the v6. One last thing that needs to be said. Where are all of these wranglers with constant mechanical failures exceeding that of any other offroader? Maybe the jeep owners i know and i are just lucky. Seems to me the biggest mechanical issue with the wrangler is its reputation

@@jonathongellibrand3632 Yeah, not great. Above average for a serious off-roader. Especially considering it doesn’t wear aggressive all-terrains.

The only good thing about jeep is how fast the refresh rate of the digital speedo is. Why cant any other manufacturer do this😂

Known issues with Galvanic Corrosion on 85k cars is not a good look and the reason people should NEVER buy one - class action against Stellantis in the US is underway.

I do like the Wrangler, it's very charming... that 4 cylinder soundtrack seems a bit incongruous coming from a Wrangler tho!
Sadly of course you have to have your eyes open to Stellantis reliability and customer service, but for a lot of people nothing but a Jeep will do.
$83k is pushing the friendship a bit I would have thought but I guess nothing is cheap nowwdays.
And it's infinitely more appealing than a grotty Tank 300.
