I can remember New Brighton in the 60's same as Blackpool. They were the best days though we didn't know it at the time. Liverpool and Merseyside was the place to grow up in the 60's.
Certainly better days. When we look back at times like these we tend to forget the things we took for granted back then, one of those things was privacy. Walking around on a beach or sitting on a deck chair with your shirt half open, without having a CCTV camera watching you is becoming a thing of the past. CCTV cameras every bloody where you go these days, making it imposible to be outdoors without you being recorded and having your own day monitored werever you go (all in the name of so called stopping crime and terrorism). Then laws saying you can't film your own kids swimming, and so on.
They used to have a lot of this footage showing in the old Museum of Liverpool Life with some really great realxing period music of a solo sax playing in the background. Never knew what it was called, and now of course it's gone with the new building opening :(
I remember oak and Eldon when they where blown down.. New Brighton outdoor pool was great to. I smashed my head wide open in it.. God am getting old but I refuse to grow up lol 😂😂😂
I always remember the fountain the smell of pee in the toilets but as a teenager, cut off jeans chasing the girls. The derby pool was ok with yer gran. 😂🍺🍺🍺
Love watching this to see what my mother and father grow up in :). Very different to today.
A very well done, to ever who either made it, or kept it, to be viewed in the future, times that can no longer be brought back.
Life was far simpler then. Happy memories

brilliant video, makes you realise just how different it is now
3:11 is my Mum, Uncle, Grandpa, and Nana! Grandpa was usually behind the camera rather than in front of it so it's nice to see him ❤
The sites and sounds of the 60s good times wherever you were from.
Fantastic, thank you.
A trip down the memory lane of the Wirral!

Looking back late 60's early 70's it was all we had and it was sound.
Liverpools playground? It soon got thrown away then. It will always be where I was born and grew up, treasured memories
