Dropping another LIKE on your video! I have a Z-Master Toro 3000 w/72" deck for the property here. The old Z-Master did a really fine job for a lot of years. Excellent video going over the repair... loved the comment of the jack being older than some viewers! Trying to avoid extensive repairs, I go through the book and make sure I get the service to mitigate issues before they get really bad. Thanks for the video... great information!
Thank you Ray. This was a work out. I did this repair at the owners home because it would not fit on my trailer. That jack is old LOL. I just missed 2 of these on face book, 1 for free( it would not start ) looked almost new. The other engine was shot 500.00. Gone in less than an hour! Stay well, Joe Z
You don’t need to run a wire, if the switch is good , when you turn the key to on mode not start, you will hear the clutch click , also use the multimeter put on Ohms continuity it will beep when you turn on and off the PTO switch with the PTO unplug d from the machine. Lastly some clutches can be adjusted with the three bolts, use a feeler gauge and set to specs.
Thank you for adding additional information. In this case the clutch did not click. Both the clutch & the switch were bad & replaced. Just for those who may be using a multimeter for the first time not all meters have the audio beep. Stay well, Joe Z

I have a zero turn Husqvarna exact same thing happened to us.. But, we replaced the PTO and have power to it.. but, still the blades won't engage.. you can hear the PTO clicking - any suggestions
You may have already checked some of this out already, hard to tell with out seeing the unit but here we go. Are you sure the click is from the PTO? Are you able to check for power from the PTO switch? Are you able to bypass the PTO switch to the PTO to see if the blades will engage, if power is coming from the switch but blades do not engage unless you bypass the switch you may have a short in the wire or a loose or bad ground. Are the blades free from any string, rope, wire or any other item keeping them from spinning? Is your deck belt in good shape and routed back on correctly. Is the PTO mounted correctly. Although these questions may sound obvious I hope one of them is of help. Let me know and above use caution and Stay safe, Joe Z
Keep the machine running. Let the blades come to a complete stop before you engage them again. Let me know if this was of help. Thank you for stopping by. The first thing I would do is to check the switch. Pull the switch to the start position & connect a volt meter. If you do not get a reading check the fuse. If the fuse is blown check the wires for a short. If the fuse is not blown check to see if you are getting power to the switch. If so change out the switch. If the switch checks out first check the connection to the PTO clutch, make sure it is firmly attached. If if is before you remove the clutch remove the connection & make sure you are getting power to the clutch. If you are then then the clutch is the issue. Let me know if this helped you out. Hello have a z5400 craftsman new clutch on but will not work correct where the wires are on top disconnect when the top of clutch turns Wht is wrong we are lost
@anthonymadmanstricklandspo7818, I am not sure if what you are telling me is the clutch spins when you have it engage & it pulls the wires out. If that is the problem look for a bolt or some type of "retainer, for lack of a better word". The clutch should have a hole or a notch that a "retainer" would go into to keep it from spinning. Let me know if this was of help. Joe Z
@@JOEZEP54 yes the clutch stopper bracket was broke but now we are trying to figure out how to get the pto which is a new switch to activate the blades, when we touch clutch with the hot wire it activates but not from the switch. Hopefully I am explaining this right thank again

When you burnish the clutch. Do you shut the entire zero turn of each time you burnish it?. Or do you keep the machine running?
