OK, this sister-in-law is very very naïve or very, very stupid. Because what if the people she had handed her daughter over to raise, decided that they did not want to keep her they put her in put her in the system and somebody else adopted her there’s no way that this woman would’ve gotten her daughter back, no matter what she said. I am surprised that these people haven’t called the police and reported that the mother is back in town because she can still be put in jail for child abandonment. If she left the child anonymously, had a fire department or hospital. It would’ve been totally different but no, she left her with other people who did not consent to take care of this child passed a few days
Well your sil doesn't want to get pregnant again so she thinks she can come back and take the child after 5 years. SIL is wrong. The little girl is OP's child.
