My first exposure as a young man to Walter's Mozart was through this majestic recording - borrowed from the Brooklyn Public Library. Needless to say, I was "hooked", and am so glad to hear it again in this splendid upload. The Mozart 39th is a very special symphony indeed that thrills without tiring the listener - even after many years of exposure. Especially noteworthy are the dissonant chords at the beginning of the first movement that foreshadow the even harsher chords in Beethoven's Eroica.
