such a killer song....I remember this when it came out.....Ray Gillen was a badass singer...
good job on the lesson bro....Pariah Pickups shirt is cool AF too...I had a couple different ones with burnt Chome covers....
Thanks!
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Pariah Pickups. I've tried 5 different models in my guitars, and I'm very happy with all of them.
I haven't seen the burnt chrome--I'll check that out.
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Great playing… could you do rumblin’ train…
Thanks!
Rumblin' Train is great! Let's see how this video does.
Hi! First of all, I want to give you a huge compliment: I know very well that this song and it's not easy at all, and you play it perfectly. I envy you so much, and I would give anything to be able to play even half as well as you do. That said, I have to say that your lesson on “High Wire” by Badlands, a song I’ve loved forever, left me a bit disappointed.
I’m a huge fan of Jake E Lee and was one of the first to buy this album when it came out in 1989. Since then, I’ve been waiting for someone to teach me how to play this piece. Unfortunately, from your video, it’s hard to grasp: the backing track with the other instruments and vocals creates a lot of confusion. Also, even when you play it slowly, it’s still too fast for someone trying to learn.
Please, if you can, redo the video by playing the intro riff and the solo without the backing track and much more slowly. I would be really grateful.
I understand that many people comment just to criticize, but I want to emphasize that this is not my intention. I truly appreciate your skill, and I just want to help make your video more accessible to those of us who don’t have your superpowers.
Finally, I know that UA-cam videos can be slowed down, but the audio quality suffers and it becomes hard to distinguish the notes. Thank you for your attention, and I hope to see an improved video on this fantastic song soon!
Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to mention in the video that there is a link to the tab of my transcription in the description section beneath the video. I know that my videos are a little different than others, because I want to avoid talking through the string and fret numbers of each note. The tab does a way better job of that, and you can take it and use it to practice along with the actual track.
I appreciate all of the compliments!
dude...a guy named Dave Nassie with a buzz haircut does a nice slower version of this lesson....accurate too...High Wire...great song
