Yeah. Its so weird, the village council seems to be just a bunch of old fossils that are more concerned about dying in a quiet nowhere place than breathing life into the local area. If you wanna die quiet and alone just find a residential home you know what I mean?
Damned shame that a wealthy villager (who doesn't farm) and those officious zealots on the planning committee ignored the dire financial situation that the farmers in that area find themselves in, to let their prejudice stop the restaurant. They all live in an area of outstanding natural beauty only because the farmers have created it. Bloody shameful.
That's a really good stance on it. I agree with you. It's a jealously thing that someone has beaten them to an idea. Got jobs for local residents, built a shop that support local produce and brings more revenue to the town. If I was smart, I would create a business just up the round that would compliment this as I know it would bring the footfall (flowers etc..)
Imagine if it was anyone else doing this and achieved this kind of result, they would’ve treat the guy like a god. Rather than stopping him from doing anything, So sad to see in the show how the council hinders development. Nice review. Love Clarkson's Farm, binge watched both series as soon as they were available. But I can see both sides; Jeremy wants to make a profit, but if I was a rich person living in my sleepy village of Chipping Norton I'd absolutely hate that it was suddenly a lot busier with traffic.
I’m a poor (not rich) person living in the lovely (and not at all sleepy) village of Chadlington, and yes the parked up road both sides on a busy day can be a total nightmare - just hoping I or my loved ones never have a heart attack or a house fire on a busy day at the farm shop as I’ll be waiting forever for an ambulance or fire engine to get through. . . and that’s the problem most of us in the village have, we have nothing against someone who’s already been our neighbour for years building a farm shop, we just want our main access route in and out of our village to be clear enough to drive through properly as we always have (I’ve lived here for 48 years). We have loads of celebrities living round here, always have done because the area and community here are nice ). The area is a real mixed bag of wealth and working class people and we all rub along nicely together generally (mind you, most celebrities round here don’t call all their neighbours morons and other names in print, that wasn’t very kind or helpful). PS I’ve watched both series of Clarkson’s Farm and loved most of it too - obviously not so much the bits that are so heavily edited that they give a very one sided view, against the village and the local district council but it’s his show.
As pointed out Jeremy should be given credit as he is bringing in trade to a dead area, locals are just jealous their cash register is not pinging which is crux of matter,
Well, it's mainly the council. But don't delegitimise some locals' concerns. That's their home. Maybe they liked it quiet and are afraid it might not be anymore. I'm sure it'll work itself out in the end.

Chipping Norton is quite well known even before Diddly Squat opened. Beckham lives up the road, along with a ton of other famous people
I & people I know didn’t know about it. I guess now everyone knows about it. It’s a good thing
I love that the camera man kept him on task… since he was a wee tad forgetful. You’re a funny bloke! I’m bloody hungry now!
Hahah he always keeps me in check. Josh is a good old egg. We love Josh.
I read somewhere that the restaurant was closed now, but I'm glad to see that's still open apparently! 🙂
This was filmed on 11th Feb btw
@@HeatMyWords So he did find a way to open it again then! 🙂 I think the council closed it somewhere in September last year.
@@PhilippeGovaerts I think he's doing it out a van instead of a sit down restaurant. Loophole
So the old barn isn't the place anymore? They can serve people at the old sheep shed?
Correct
Excellent. Bravo you guys and bravo for Mr Clarksons, great job 😊
Thank you so much 🫶
Imagine if it was anyone else doing this and achieved this kind of result, they would’ve treat the guy like a god. Rather than stopping him from doing anything, So sad to see in the show how the council hinders development. I can only imagine what he could’ve achieve if the locals supported him. 50 employed ppl is 50 families supported. I really do hope what he’s doing could continue. I’m in Australia, and I want to have a taste of that food, contemplating going for a visit. I wish he can get the beer down here.😂
Hello Australia. Yeah I agree, he being put in a box because of who he is, they think it’s an unfair advantage to the farming community
Great upload chaps, paying a visit myself is deffo on my list. Subbed
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel
“What you mean you don’t eat spicy food Bruv?!” Ahahah that’s me and my boys 😅😂
🫶 haha love that
Food looks banging! 🔥🤤
Very good quality
The food is great, the beer is great. I had the chilli bowl and a pint, dead on. Loved the food and people.
Thanks for the comment. Nice to see other people have tried and also agree.
nice review. when did you go? wasn't the restaurant forced to shut down?
I went on the 11th Feb
Thanks for filming the review! I so much hope Jeremy's appeal will be successful ❤
Thank you so much. Hope you enjoyed. All the best, Chris
First video of your, i thought you had wayyy more subs than you do i mean that in a good way, really good quality content.
This has made my day. Hopefully the subs will come 🫶
@@HeatMyWords np dude and hopefully, One thing i would say is be careful when you say things like "Sods the locals" A lot of them were actually on his side in the end, as someone who lives in a wee town up here in Scotland, it came across juuuust a touch abrasive xD But other than that loved it ;)
@@BugattiONE666 good feedback 😂 I did ask someone there how the relationship and he said not great. They’re really against the idea and as you may see in the news, have to close to restaurant.
We all start somewhere
@@HeatMyWords ah, that doesnt sound so good xD
Hello, great video, does the restaurant still exist?
Yes it does! It's more of a burger van now in the barn.
The food looks great! I've seen some other photos of it and several videos including the bits in the show itself.
Yeah it’s a great place. Would love to go spend a day with him
When was this shot/made etc... I'm confused about the operational status on the farm shop area ? Open, closed, what's the current deal ? I'm under the impression that the whole thing is shut down because of the discriminatory council ?
I went last weekend and no signs of it closed. I did see a tweet since saying it’s closed but I don’t know is the honest answer
You are confusing yourselves. The cafe is open but the restaurant has been closed down.
@@Brian-1948 isn’t the restaurant / cafe is the same thing, no? It was made a few weeks ago.
@@HeatMyWords No, the cafe is in the lambing shed nearby the shop?, the restaurant is down the farm track to the other side of the field.
Good on you 👍🏻
Thank you 🫶
Nice review. Love Clarkson's Farm, binge watched both series as soon as they were available. But I can see both sides; Jeremy wants to make a profit, but if I was a rich person living in my sleepy village of Chipping Norton I'd absolutely hate that it was suddenly a lot busier with traffic.
Yeah I see your point which is fair.
Just for clarity Chipping Norton isn’t a sleepy village it’s a busy town. Chadlington near the farm is the sleepy village.
@@clickem2697 I didn't know that, thanks for the correction.
Cheers from Yanktown!
Cheers for watching 🫶
What day of the week that was?
This was a Saturday morning
@@HeatMyWords cheers.
Great Review, love it. Thanks for that
Thank you for watching. Please give it a share & follow
Interesting it's at the sheep shed? And there's a car park?
Yeah it’s in the cowshed and the car park could only fit 20 cars
As pointed out Jeremy should be given credit as he is bringing in trade to a dead area, locals are just jealous their cash register is not pinging which is crux of matter,
Cheers to that
Well, it's mainly the council. But don't delegitimise some locals' concerns. That's their home. Maybe they liked it quiet and are afraid it might not be anymore.
I'm sure it'll work itself out in the end.
I'm really thinking about driving down from the northeast just to go eat at the farm I would love to meet Jeremy love watching his shows .. thanks for the food review makes me what to go more now
Glad you want to go! I would love to get Jeremy on the channel for a behind the scenes
@@HeatMyWords getting Jeremy on your channel would be amazing he's my favourite TV presenter I really hope he's at the farm when I go I'd love to have a chat and maybe get a photo with him 😊
@@Russell_1987 I’m trying. I would love to come farming with him for a day
@@HeatMyWords yea i would love to spend some time on the farm with him and Kaleb for the day would b amazing and funny
@@Russell_1987 I’ll keep asking them
I think it's closed now. Is it?
Nah it’s still open
Check out ‘Crisp SW6’ in Hammersmith.
What you recommend? That’s not far from me
Place looks amazing for some day drinking and enjoying farm to table food
Day drinking & Clarksons farm = 🤝 + some hot days will be a vibe
Brilliant review, thanks. I will get there at some point this Yr, can't wait 😊
I hope you have fun
I see spoilers for next season, that restaurant was the bigger one..good to see.
A little spoiler for you 🤝
Just vote the council out for one which focused on enhancing the community and business.
They were all one type of demographic that’s scared for change. As Charlie said he’s never seen it happen, but only against Jeremy
Where is the resteraunt on his farm now? looks alot bigger than the show
In the sheep shed
if you go to diddly squat, you need to go to crocodiles of the world too, not far away and brilliant
great reviews
Thank you. Added to the list. All recommendations welcome
Looks like the lamb birthing shed, not the barn? So I assume they were eventually allowed to build that into the restaurant then?
I think the restaurant got closed down on Feb 23. And Jeremy appealing, hearing due Mar 14
Thank you, I have seen a lot of people asking. Got there at the right time
Wait is this a new recording? I thought the town council shut him down, and all I could find on google said "permanently closed"
Also why are you only at 1.8k subs? Content and quality of the video deserves more.
Thank you. I’m trying to build it up. I filmed this on 11th Feb ❤️
This area was not cleared for seating use during season 2. Did something happen that allowed Jeremy to use this for seating and restaurant use ?
I filmed this on 11th Feb 2023. So I assumed got some permission to have it. Shame he wasn’t there to ask these questions
Can we just acknowledge that this is a TV show made for entertainment. The money made is from Amazon and not the farm and the farm is run by true farmers. Clarkson is effectively a host who poses as a farmer for comedy and thats fine but people praising Clarksons farming and work ethic are mental.
How come the prices are so so high though
He can’t work at scale. It’s local produce. And mainly, because he can 😂
I subscribed because you’re funny and I think your review was an 8.7 out of 10. Now hit some more locations
Thank you mate. I’m out every week hitting spots. Any recommendations please comment, I need good recommendations
Your Belstaff jacket, is it the ‘Streamline’ model?
I want one.
I got it in Portsmouth outlet in the summer. Gunwarf Keys 🫶
is it worth a 2.30 hour for a visit?
That’s what I did! So I would say so
Wait - what? At the time of this comment it is March 12. The restaurant is open? I thought the city council stopped it.
This was filmed on 11th Feb. You’ll find out on season 3
Well it seems like the council let him expand into the sheep barn and add some additional parking which is a great sign.
No additional parking but the first bit is right. They’re just serving out of a van
Great review.
Thank you so so much. Means a lot
You might not have heard of Chipping Norton, but many, many have.
Most people I know only know of it because of the channel
@@HeatMyWords The vast majority of people I know will know where it is...not specifically, but they will know it is in the Cotswolds. Be that as it may...nice to hear first hand how decent the food is...and well priced too 👍
Is it open or not? We’d visit from California but it would suck if closed. Going to order the jerky if possible. Great video. Thanks
I went last weekend. I would maybe DM then on Instagram but not heard anything as it’s officially closed. The jerky was amazing
@@HeatMyWords thank you. Their shop doesn’t have the jerky on the website so I suppose we will just have to pay a visit. 😀
@@jrbergsten I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Recommend the milk & beer too
I hope that Diddly Squat stays in business!! Farm to table is just the best! Let’s ALL reduce our carbon footprint! I binged watched the 2nd season. Long live the farm store and restaurant!

How did you find it?
New to your channel. Only on the beer try thus far but your entertaining, so I'm going to Subscribe to your channel now.
Should add, literally NO reason I need to watch about England's food scene. I live in Canada 🇨🇦. Not like I could take a drive around and enjoy any of it. 😕
Hey Amy, thank you so much. The aim is to take this global. Canada is on my list, what would you recommend? What areas should I hit up?
Anyone know what jacket Chris have?
It’s Belstaff mate. I got it on sale in Gunwarf Quay (Portsmouth). Tip: buy your coats in the summer and it’s like 50% cheaper 😂

So is anything with vit C like blood sausage & havgis
What’s this in relation to?
Why didn't you give the price of the jerky?
I did on a short video on my Tiktok. Must have missed it out on here. It was about £7 I think. Soo
