If this had the drop down sunshades of the euro version and fidlock instead of double d ring, this would absolutely challenge a lot of high end helmets.
I appreciate these reviews so much, Spurgeon, but I would absolutely love to see you guys review the volume of these helmets while riding highway and in the city.
We try to tackle it when it's relevant, or when manufacturer's make big claims, but and ADV helmet is already at a disadvantage because of it's peak/visor set up. Also, helmet noise is super subjective. I've use Arai's most of my adult life and have never been bothered by road noise whereas I have friends who won't touch Arai because they swear they're insanely loud. We agree to disagree. Long story short, we're dedicated to try to continuously innovate and expand the way we review products, but we haven't found a really great way to discuss helmet noise that's not incredibly subjective. Thanks for watching and for the comment!!
I have a EXO-1400 Carbon and love it. Sad to see this XT does not have the firm detent right before close for low speed riding to provide better airflowz
Revzilla should carry the non-carbon version, the ADF-9000 Air (euro version). It’s only slightly heavier, includes the two visors, pinlock, and adds an internal drop down visor for about $200 less.
I just had to look it up. That's a great looking helmet. Exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want the modular but want the drop down visor. Why the carbon model doesn't have that is crazy to me. Probably weight. Hopefully they bring the ADF-9000 to the US as it's only available overseas as of now.
Drop down sun visors are an awesome feature, but they can add a decent amount of weight and size to the helmets. So we like that there are options for both with and without on the market.
More crap to break, I like the idea of them too, but it's more weight, and more parts to break. Rather have a transition visor or have my own sunglasses
It can be tricky seeing the terrain when going in and out of a thick canopy. Pulling sun glasses off and on every time seems annoying, and a transitioning shield won’t return to clear fast enough. I get his point. It would be nice!
I bought the blue red. My only nit pick is the detent for crack opening , My old Icon is so good for that part. Otherwise beautiful helmet and how do you beat that value.
How is the exo tech in the heat? Is the chin vent direct, and is there an exit vent? I live in Tokyo, over 37c (100f) is really normal in the summer. I like the exo tech and the adf9000.
Often times it’s so the brands can differentiate their inventory. ECE-only helmets are different shells than DOT complaint models, so therefore they need different names. Other times it’s bc SNELL mandates it too.
Sure, and if you get overheated you can always run an ADV helmet with goggles. It will be insanely loud at higher speeds, but you will have the biggest vent on the market around the goggles, hitting your face / head.
While that has more to do with you other factor than the helmet, it'll be about as loud as most ADV helmets at those speeds (pretty damn load w/ the peak attached). Removing the peak will help alleviate that, but ear plugs are still the number 1 way to make any helmet quieter out on the road.
tried it, this is a terrible helmet. the padding near the back of your neck is like a brick. way to hard to put up against my spine and expect it to survive a crash.

Ok. This will be my 3rd Scorpion helmet. Absolutely the best for my head :)

At this point I’m not sure why any brand is making ADV helmets without the inner tinted visor. It seems like an absolute must feature for ADV helmets.

Drop down visors can block airflow when they are not down. I can feel the difference in my Icon airflow.
solid review. my AT950 is pretty heavy. I bet this would be great for my next multi state ride.

Would be interesting to know how they passed the rotational component of ECE 22.06.
All your information is wonderful… Too bad RevZilla does not ship to Canada!
Nice review Spooge.
I have the Scopeion Exo Tech Carbon. Best modular for the money.

How light does it feel ?? For a measure M?
very nice looking helmet
I seriously don't get why they give helmets different names in for example Europe and the USA. It's called the ADF-9000 over here.

When is it coming to europe?
In EU it is called ADF 9000, it's here already :)
@@potato_snek But I want the carbon version so I can look cool on my crummy vintage bike 😂
I run hot and sweat alot is this a good flowing helmet?
