I don’t think the queen is as rigid as everyone thinks. 90+ women usually are very spunky, they’ve lived long, seen it all and don’t care. She lived through the fashion of the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and then the 2000’s. I promise you, she takes her job seriously and shoes don’t offend her

The Queen DOES have a lot of life experience/experience of endless people and their endless clothing/fashion choices. She's probably thinking back over the last few hundred high-heeled guests, who have gone face-first/struggled to walk. I wore a shoe somewhat similar to that to my great aunt's 90th birthday. She gave me a look very similar to what the Queen gave to the Turkish First Lady's footware, except she was able to tell me what she was thinking. She asked me if they were comfortable and how the HELL could I walk in them without falling on my face. Of course she also looked me over and asked if I lost weight, which i had. Her reply was, "I liked you better the other way!"

That's a "what the hell" look on my dad and my cobbler's face, each time I tried to custom make a 2 to 3 inch heal... The negotiation done between dad, cobbler and me to reduce it at least by 1 inch...

I can say with almost 100% certainty that she either didn’t mind or didn’t care about the shoes. This is a woman who makes a point of wearing bright neon at every opportunity imaginable.
